Nous Defions posts another must-read.
Here is a snapshot of where we need to be – defiant in the very face of the murdering bastards who are here to enslave us:
Allons enfants de la Patrie
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie
L’étendard sanglant est levé
Entendez-vous dans nos campagnes
Mugir ces féroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans vos bras.
Égorger vos fils, vos compagnes!
Aux armes citoyens
Formez vos bataillons
Marchons, marchons
Qu’un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons
Arise children of the fatherland
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny’s
Bloody standard is raised
Listen to the sound in the fields
The howling of these fearsome soldiers
They are coming into our midst
To cut the throats of your sons and consorts…
To arms, citizens!
Form your battalions
March, march
Let impure blood
Water our furrows

We secessionists sing Dixie at the end of every meeting. It could be used by others, the PC crowd hates it.
Despite being raised in the rural South, I never considered myself a “Secesh.” However, as I watch what little is left of the fabric of the Republic being rent asunder by the entitled class on both sides of the aisle, I lean towards that myself more and more as I age. Considering that the people in the over-populated states, with their bloated electoral influence have nothing at all in common with those of us in MT, WY, ID, UT, AZ, and the majority of CO, why shouldn’t we consider it. If nothing else, considering the natural resources these states provide (oil, natural gas, coal, etc) that are so critical to the continuance of life in the urban megalopolis, even if we did not follow through on the threat of secession, it would FORCE the Beltway Bandits to take a serious look at our grievances.

“Considering that the people in the over-populated states, with their bloated electoral influence have nothing at all in common with those of us in MT, WY, ID, UT, AZ, and the majority of CO, why shouldn’t we consider it”
Wow. Way to write off a whole lot of potential allies before you even start. Yes, there are plenty in the big states that have nothing in common with you, but not all of them. Look at election maps by county, for example. There’s plenty of people who don’t like the current state of affairs, they’re just outnumbered. Hell, even in the bluest of blue cities – such as where I live – there are plenty of people who are well and truly fed up.
I use TOR, which makes it impossible to post at Nous Defions, so I’ll beg your indulgence to post a comment here…

Something else to bear in mind: Che fought forces that were backed (as he was subsequently backed) by the military and political assets of a superpower. This was in turn a consequence of a massive and supportive civilian infrastructure.
As a military becomes more specialized and weapons systems become more advanced, they rely more heavily on that infrastructure. Consider the logistics of outfitting, training and maintaining a Revolutionary infantryman. Along with a complete working knowledge of his equipment, he was expected to maintain it and himself using little more than his wits and experience. A modern infantryman may be extremely familiar with his equipment, but cannot create his own ammunition, repair his night vision equipment or produce serviceable footwear. He is entirely dependent on his supply chain to maintain combat efficiency. The modern military is utterly at the mercy of a highly complex, interdependent, fragile and global civilian infrastructure in every respect.
This is a weakness Che could not exploit. His enemies were shielded by distance, military might and a hostile ideology. Further, their means of production and delivery were less complex and more robust than today.
Should the American military ever be turned on its own country, systems disruption of civilian infrastructure at the hands of even a few could rapidly degrade it to Third World status.
It serves well to consider that the Soviet Union fell not because of internal strife or economic disaster, rather because the typical person simply learned enough of the truth that he quit going to work to support it.
This should be carefully studied.
When they wouldn’t play Dixie at my retirement ceremony(Held every month for all retiring soldiers) I didn’t bother showing up. And that was in South Carolina. Damned Yankees. Merde.
“Bonnie Blue Flag” would be another choice. I especailly like the lyrics about “Northern Treachery”, seeing how the choice this November will be either Barack Obama or Mitt Obama.
Very stirring rendition. When you have finished the Casablanca version, listen to the one by Mirielle Mathieu in the upper left corner of the screen. Too bad the French (with the possible exception of the Foreign Legion) can’t fight as well as they sing. Can’t take away from their spirit though.

MM’s version is also in the “Resistez!” hyperlink.
And as one who has tramped some of the still-scarred ground at Verdun, I have a different perspective of French willingness to fight and die (at least until their gene-pool was depleted by the first stage of that Thirty Year War).
Of course, a lot of the French resistance was just propaganda. There was more than a little collaboration, and French troops fired on the Torch landings.
Plenty of people will happily collaborate with Leviathan this time, too.
France is not yet dead.
Pat Hines, Mountain Guerrilla:
Pardon my making a suggestion, but do you think that Federation of Southern States or Southern States Federation sounds like something worth considering for the name of your regional republic?
Jimmy the Saint/Jan 10 @ 20:48,
Right you are! Funny how those outside of the People’s Democratic Republic of California automatically assume that everyone here is a squish brained Leftist while simultaneously becoming intensely offended when THEIR state/region is besmirched. Just as all Californians aren’t Godless, cowardly, homo/polysexual, doped up, depraved Red hippies, neither are all ‘white’ Southerners violent, drunken, reflexively bigoted, stupid trash or all denizens of the East/Northeast mouthy punx who slavishly obey the diktats of Mother Govt. Don’t forget, folks, that post-Dust Bowl California was populated primarily by Nebraskans, Kansans, Okies, Arkies, Texans, New Mexicans, & Coloradans/Coloradoans(?), & that said “refuse” were the ones who built the state into the mythic place
of song & story. Understand that it was when the mass migration from the Northeast, NY & NJ in particular, occurred & said creatures were stupidly allowed to gain power that things began to go into the crapper. Yes, it’s our fault for letting it happen, just like it’s everyone else’s fault for letting the greatest country in human history go similarly rotten, so ease off the smugness & take Elvis’ advice about backyards, okay?
Thank you for your attn, the sermon is ended.
