No surprise, but read it anyway.

  1. I gave up on the NRA and canceled my Life membership when they gave Orrin Hatch a pass when he voted to confirm Eric Holder for Att. Gen. He still holds his A+ NRA rating. Its all about Inside the Beltway politics. Screw ‘em.

  2. Semper Fi, 0321

Gave up on them over a decade ago when I finally realized they were just another blood sucking parasite that was more concerned over fundraising than the 2nd Amendment.
PETA, Sierra Club and the NRA all have the same agenda, fleecing the public for the better good of the board of directors.

    • THIS. I’d add “To hold fabulous, self-congratulatory banquets for donothings in designer suits” to your agenda statement sir.

I’ll rejoin when those pricks start delivering ammunition to me.

Down in the comments section is this:

“They can’t control you if they can’t take your guns.”

Probably the saddest thing I have read today.
    Poor misaligned fool.

  4. Beat both SF0321 and IDP. Gave us my NRA membership after an on the phone yelling match w/NRA guy when they gave Clinton an A+.

  5. I had been a member for over twenty years when I dropped my membership fifteen years ago. I’m a slow learner, but I realized it was all about the money. If you do your research, you will discover they have assisted in writing _every_ damaging piece of legislation since before (and including) GCA ’68, the Lautenberg Amendment, the Assault Weapons Bill, etc. True story. For me the last straw was finding out about the Lautenberg Amendment when it passed – and not from the NRA. I’ve been with GOA and JPFO since then.

Yeah, exactly where were they when the NFA of ’34 was passed? Not a whimper, even back then. They’ve been a disgrace to the gun owners and members for a lot longer than any of us can remember. Yet the masses scream adoration for how well they support our gun rights. And you get a free hat too, all because they love us. How many of us get to go on safari every year?
How come no one has yet to challenge the bogus passing by Charles Rangel of the Hughes Amendment? Where is the NRA? That one flew right over their heads, never even heard of it. And we still go to prison over an unjust law, which even the NRA chooses to ignore.
I built the indoor pistol range for the local gun club, bought with NRA funds, the bastards couldn’t even give me a free years admission. Built several rifles for RockyMountainElkFoundation too, they never even gave me a free Bugle magazine either. You figure out real quick where the money goes, and you’re not in the inner circle. Blood sucking leeches, all of them.

  6. The NRA wrote the National Firearms Act of 1934. Their excuse? “We had to do that to protect handguns.”

I’m a life member, so that’s a done deal. Now I let them send me “free shit” and give them nothing in return.

Of course, I don’t know why I thought an organization founded by a group of United States army officers to improve the poor marksmanship of their troops, who’d had their arses out shot time and again by my people after they invaded us, would defend self defense rights.

    • Anyone else find Pat Hines an advocate and apologist for the system and philosophy that first brought “Gun/Arms Control” to North America complaining about the NRA as funny as I do?

If it was OK for the victims of your predecessors it is OK for you, Pat old pal.

  7. I’ve been sayin’ for years that the NRA was worthless, this little fiasco just reinforces that thought.

Seeing Whine LaPierre bail Sarah Brady out way back when Brinkley ran ABC’s This Week was the final nail in the NRA’s coffin w/ me & I’ve to date not seen anything meriting re-consideration of my leaving them. Their vaunted ‘hard core’ board of directors ain’t squat either. I’m also singularly unimpressed w/ Larry Pratt as he prefers to be avuncular to the ‘news’ person who’s blatantly lying to his face instead of slapping him/her down. Alan Gottlieb, however, has become quite belligerent lately & has racked up some victories since he dropped his ‘nice Jewish boy’ attitude toward the anti-2A/pro-thug/pro-dictatorship cult & started really going after them, a shift I attribute to serious competition from the late Aaron Zelman (G-d Bless him/his family/org) & JPFO.

To me, JPFO remains the benchmark of proper behavior for a pro-2A org w/ SAF a close second & so they get all the support I can give. And don’t forget the important work KABA’s doing, they put out more good info in a week than the majority of far bigger groups do in a year & like JPFO pull no punches. Would that the lottery gods saw fit to reward me w/ a big payday like they regularly do w/ illegals, as JPFO, KABA, & SAF’d get a hefty chunk, a ‘tithe’ if you will, in gratitude for the good work they’ve done & do. Imagine the horror of the cult/its allies/enablers if those 3 had the NRA’s funding/membership & the juice that goes w/ it.

  9. People should remember Rommney is at best Obama lite. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

  10. LaPierre, a vaguely french sounding exec vp for life…a crooked inside dealer enriching his pals at members’ cost.
And a board of directors that goes along with the scam.
    So long NRA>>>

  11. They had to pick some one. You want them to endorse the “other” guy?

    • Actually, they did not have to endorse anyone.

They could have very easily said, “Unfortunately, neither of the major party candidates has any credibility when it comes to protecting the Second Amendment or any other part of the Constitution. Accordingly, the Association urges its members to vote defensively this year, even if that means abstaining from voting in particular races.”

      They did not.

To the Devil with them all.

      • Bingo. Nailed it, CA.

NRA is supposed to be an advocate for gun rights, not an advocate for a political party or candidate.

The problem with selling your soul is that eventually the Devil will come to collect.

  12. Lets not just blast the NRA(even though they deserve it), how ’bout Good ‘ol Richard Nixon(1992) “Unless we adopt and enforce strict gun control laws–ones much tougher than the Brady Bill–we will never succeed in stemming the violence spawned by the drug trade” or Reagan with his Hughes amendment(say good bye to my leetle full auto), or GHW Bush’s “assault weapon” imports and part count hoop jumping laws or George “I’ll sign it if it makes it to my desk” Bush — along with his direction to stop Assault weapon barrel importation (ATF inspired). We have never really had friends in DC — Only Illusions. ——————————————————Heck, what am I squakin’ about – we’ve got Romney! This time it’ll be different!!
