Draft Text For 2012 “WTF?” Media Campaign

Draft #1, courtesy of Arctic Patriot:

A QUESTION FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Who Owns You?

The relationships between you, other people, and your government all hinge on this simple, yet profound question.

So, Who Owns You?

Who owns your body?

Who owns the products of your hard work, the fruits of your once-only-ever life?

Who has authority in your family, and with your children?

Is it you?

Is it the government?

Who owns you?

Do Democrats have what it takes to run your life?

Do Republicans?

You own you, fellow American, and no matter what laws are passed, no matter who is elected, no matter how much authority other people try to claim over your life, your property, and your family, the final decision is up to you.

Who owns you?

Only you can answer that.

And only you, through choice, can change that.

AP’s draft #2:

A MESSAGE FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Politicians laugh when they see gun and ammunition sales at record levels.

They condescendingly say, “Now folks, don’t get riled, no one is going to come and take your guns.”

They just don’t get it.

We’re not worried about outright gun confiscation.

We are growing angry at the government’s intrusions on our bodies, our property, and our families.

That is why We The People are arming ourselves.

Americans do not take kindly to people trying to take control of our lives.

“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
-Abraham Lincoln

A quick stab at another:

AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT IS IN ITS FINAL MONTHS

236 years ago, British citizens in North America – having exhausted all other means to remove the boot of government from their necks – started shooting and killing British military personnel assigned to subdue them.

Those acts of murder and treason led to more than six years of conventional fighting up and down the original 13 colonies, along with widespread guerrilla conflict by both sides directed against opposition sympathizers.

Six years of death, destruction, sickness, misery, and starvation — all because the totalitarian government of King George III would not allow the British citizens in North America to live their lives as they saw fit.

236 years later, Americans watch with mouths agape as their government year after year spends more than $100 billion per month more than it receives in taxes.

And what is done with that spending by the government?

– A 21st-century police state is nearing completion across North America, with data networks, roadblocks, unmanned reconnaissance aircraft, unprecedented governmental surveillance of citizens, and a standing army of hundreds of thousands of Federal, state, and local law enforcement officials;

– An American government-dependent class is sustained and expanded continually, with more than 44% of Americans receiving their income from government;

– A decade-long series of unconstitutional and unsuccessful military incursions across the world, leading this country to the brink of insolvency and earning the United States the reputation as a global thug; and

– A ruinous and unconstitutional transfer of American wealth to the banking classes of Europe, which not only will fail to stabilize that continent, but in doing so will permanently enslave today’s American youth as debt serfs.

Thomas Jefferson surveyed the colonial scene in 1776 and noted:

…Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security…

Government at all level across America today is simply and hopelessly out of control.

American politicians, bureaucrats, and their enforcers refuse to abide by any of the constitutional constraints designed to restrain them from the overwhelming majority of actions they take every day.

To those betrayers of the Constitution and their supporters, we say this:

Limited, fiscally sound government will be restored to this country.

We – the Americans who value individual freedom, private property, free markets, and human dignity – so swear it.

By any means necessary.

““We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
    -Abraham Lincoln”

The irony – well, it’s palpable. Lincoln is famous precisely because he perverted the Constitution (suspending habeus corpus, etc.) to stomp down the people who wanted nothing to do with the then-current government.

    • I thought it was rather ironic of him to say that, myself. 😉

The statement is true, nonetheless. And, BTW, the average American, in my experience, reveres him and hasn’t invested the ten seconds necessary to understand the depths of his hypocrisy.

    • Great Lincoln quote.

      Best response: “Sic Semper Tyrannis”

      • Actually, I think the best response would be “Rot in hell, you lying POS.”

        But then that’s just me…

  3. Well said. I can’t think of anything to add to that.

  6. When does it kick off – and in what publications?
Where do I send a check?

  7. Why limit ourselves to just one ad. Propaganda is just like any other war; the way to win is by an overwhelming show of force. Multi-pronged blitz attack. Plant one of each in a different publication. Rotate as needed. Augment with additional ads in additional publications as needed and available.

  8. Oh, and where can I get one of those pins?

  9. Elect Ron Paul or we will all need those guns soon! We The People are heavily armed and worried! That is not a good thing for TPTB. The sleeping giant that is America is waking up! Black Friday 2011 = Largest day of US firearm sales ever recorded

    • Sorry Mickey, I don’t think we can vote ourselves out of this. At best, it’ll get a lot worse before it gets better. At worst, pick your Ft. Sumter.

This question was answered definitively by the u.S Supreme court many years ago
You are owned by God and your parents until you are of the age of Accountability. (at the time it was 21, now it’s 18)
You are then owned by any person or corporation that you contract ownership to. (Like when you join the military or become a public servant or public employee) Contracting can be done by waiveture with full consent in contract, OR by violation of the rights of another party, person or citizen, the action of said violation is a defacto waiveture of your own rights. (For example, in cases of justifiable homicide)

ALL holders of a Social Security Account are considered to be owned by the Federal Reserve. However, it is impossible to unknowingly waive a right (remember “Marrinda VS AZ”? “You have the right to remain silent ect”)

So ALL u.S Citizens that have accepted the SSN without being provided the entire contract and ALL u.S Citizens that accepted the SSN before they were 18 years (and in some cases 21 years old) have NOT accepted it with full knowledge and consent. So ALL of them are being defrauded. However about 99.9999% of them have no idea that thins is done, and have no idea what the Supreme Court has said about the issue
So “Failure to assert a right timely is fatal, and waives the right”

All statutes are presumed to be legal until their lawfulness is challenged”

If anyone has a SSN and doesn’t object to the contract on the basis of fraud and/or being coerced into using it before they were of legal age, they ARE OWNED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

    • If anyone has a SSN and doesn’t object to the contract on the basis of fraud and/or being coerced into using it before they were of legal age, they ARE OWNED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

      Utter bullshit.

No law, statute or regulation which contravenes the Constitution has the force of law. No one is required to obey any immoral or unjust law, no matter how lofty the edifice asserting it. None of this bullshit attaches to me or to anyone who simply refuses to believe/accept/acquiesce to it. It is all the complete fabrication of the usurpers, perverters and would be puppet masters.

I do not intend or invite, and will not be dragged in to, an endless debate re: the Constitution v. anarchy ad nauseum. I simply point out that, in the context of your assertions (which of necessity begin from that document and the supposed legitimacy of Its suborners), that simply because they have passed a law does not give it legitimacy. If it fails the test of comparison with the intent of the Original Concepts of Liberty and Sovereign Citizenship, it is null and void, DOA.

The Federal Reserve, which is un Constitutional and therefor illegitimate, can test its ownership of me anytime. Bring it, foreign banksters. There are far more of us than there are of them, or any number of soulless goons they can hire.

“Quantity has a quality all its own.”

    • I own me.

Don’t need a paper to prove it, either.

The burden of proof as to my ownership lies with my would-be master/owner.

He’d better bring a damn lot of body armor when he comes to collect me, his “property”.

I own me, and I am the only person who can change that.

Forgive me here, and understand my meaning…. But damn the Constitution, Federal Reserve, god-given rights and other nonsense…I OWN ME. I don’t need a book or paper or an interpretation of god’s intent to tell me that. That’s all there bloody is to it.

According to the USPTO, the University of California systems owns a good percentage of all of us, at least on the genetic level. Gotta love any legal system that allows an entity to acquire a patent on stuff they didn’t invent, manufacture, or possess at any point. A few other universities and medical corporations own most of the rest.

Can’t wait until they try a little Kelo/eminent domain on it…..

    • “Failure to assert a right timely is fatal, and waives the right”
      ===============================================
If you do not tell me to NOT kill you, then killing you is NOT wrong.

See if you can find the flaw in there.
(it’s the subject of this entire thread – “Who owns you?”)

      • a conditional statement and its contrapositive are logically equivalent

… “undoing” the double negation yields:

“If you do not tell me to kill you, then killing you is wrong”

… which implies right or wrong is a condition of permission.

        Happy New Year

  12. Not to be nit-picky, but it is my deeply held and good-faith belief that one cannot waive a right. They may waive the exercising of that right. They may contract its exercise away. But, they may not waive what is a condition of their humanity, given by God, if you will.

    • Defend that position please.

      • One may not “give up” a right because it’s acrued as a result of their existence as a human.

The right to self defense with any weapon is a non-negotiable right, it may not lawfully, morally, or ethically be removed by an externality. You are not required to exercise the right, but you may not give it to another.

      • Rights are inherent. see: Spooner

Do not confuse rights with priviledges.

    • Question…

How do you explain this concept of “rights” to an unbeliever/athiest?

I cannot accept that faith in any one belief system is a prerequisite to having “rights”m

      Off topic, I know.

I try to keep my spiritual issues/beliefs out of debate. When spiritual common ground is absent, those points/arguments fall flat.

      AP

      • How do you explain this concept of “rights” to an unbeliever/atheist?

It doesn’t seem to me that being an atheist would preclude one from understanding natural rights as espoused by Bastiat, just as being an atheist would not do so in regarding abortion repugnant.

      • My rights are not jurisprudent upon your acceptance.

      • Sorry, knee-jerk reaction. This is an argument for a different location.

      • One may not “give up” a right because it’s acrued as a result of their existence as a human.

How do you explain this concept of “rights” to an unbeliever/athiest?

That definition of rights is completely incorrect. The antelope does not have the “right” to be not eaten by the lion. The human does not have the “right” to keep and bear arms.

Rights are the notes cultures keep about government policies that cause genocides. If you infringe the bill of rights strongly enough, a genocide is created.

Rights don’t come from God, they come from military historians.

  16. First, I like them all but the 3rd is my favorite. Having said that, is there a way to condense/combine them into a one pager with a web address printed on the bottom? (We’d have to create a website to post only information related to the specific crimes the government has committed, how they violate the Constitution (along with the Founders quotes that are relevant) and what attempts have been made by the People to remedy the problem (so we don’t have more people suggesting we try “talking” about it more).
What I’m thinking is that we print something on one side of a plain 8.5×11 page, and then we do a “x county resident” type address on the other side so we can fold it in half and tape it closed. We need to have something in the “return address” area to get them to at least open it and scan it. If it catches their fancy they can go to the website to learn more about who we are. Send this thing out as a mass mailer. Maybe we can get something to fit on a plain postcard and print a Liberty oriented image on the reverse. The tradeoff with postcards is the card is more expensive than regular white paper, but the postage is less.
This will allow anyone to go buy a couple reams of paper, a couple rolls of tape and some printer ink cartridges, buy postage and deliver them to the post office of your choice. This makes it possible for everyone to “donate” as much as they can, as often as they can.
For the postage, either actual sticky stamps or electronic postage that you print right on it would work, but I personally will probably buy US Flag stamps and ensure the flag is placed upside down.
I’m also not suggesting this instead of media, this would be in addition to other forms of media.

  17. Third one is, by far, my favorite. Site the Declaration of Independence and TJ. Damn – gives me goose bumps!

  18. AP, what if we change the end from, “Limited, fiscally sound government will be restored to this country” and kick it up a notch.
To you destroyers of Life, Liberty, and Property, we will show you that you are irrelevant to our daily lives. We will master ourselves, and be free of the chains of government. We will exchange freely with each other without you, we will protect our Liberty without you, we will worship without you, we will stamp out the fallacy that we ever needed you. We are and will be truly Free men.
    Just a thought. 🙂

    • Joshua,

The third one isn’t mine. I wrote up one similar, but was trying to keep them very short and palatable to Mr. Joe “eyes-glaze-over-at-the-mention-of-the-Constitution” guy.

      😉

      Very good ideas.

  20. I agree all three contain a piece of the matter and like the DoI the final product should contain all three elements.
Statement of standing ( ownership/ rights)
Statement of purpose ( means to insure the standing)
Statement of abuses ( case to enact change )

We have a guide, the last honest legal document of a free people, the Declaration.

  21. There was a local billboard up for a few months this year with “Citizen or Subject?” as the headline.

  22. Rauðbjorn and others above are right, there is no need to confine ourselves to a single ad.
My preference is for the first and third.
We have to think in terms of convincing the fence-sitters.
I’d argue against #2 because it starts off focused on gun rights — it’s preaching to the choir. A focus on gun rights will make readers think, “I’ve heard this all before” and too many of them won’t bother reading past the first or second sentence.
There’s another issue with #2 — are previously unarmed people buying guns in order to protect themselves from the government, or to protect themselves against muggers? I agree with both aims, don’t get me wrong, but the fence-sitters among us will brush off discussion of revolt as crazy talk. Let’s not give them an excuse not to take this situation seriously.

  23. Jimmy the Saint

If memory serves, a bunch of people tried the message “all we ask is to be left alone,” and it was roundly rejected by both the Gummint and the populace.

Who owns is irrelevant. Who rules is critical.

    • As it was the last time a group of Americans decided they wanted nothing to do with the Feds, Jimmy. Rulership is ownership, it’s part of why we have leaders, not rulers (at least that’s what we’re supposed to have).

  24. Y’all can argue till the cows come home. AP said it best here—“I own me.” Hell, that’s not even a position; it’s just a simple fact! Even if you don’t believe or accept that you own you, you still do.

All the rest, from the Constitution to the supposed Rule of Law, is just a string of one “except…” after another. Except there are no excepts.

99% of you kneel before the IRS and the Federal Reserve. Call me all the names you want, but you can’t change the fact that the IRS OWNS your ASS.
How many of you quit paying the IRS? None of you, and why? Fear of the IRS taking something away from you, or threatening you?
You can talk all day long about how free you are, the IRS still owns you. Period!

  27. One of our biggest problems in our present situation is that we, Free Americans, have already been defined and redefined by the domestic enemy to the point that we are automatically terrorists and extremists every time our cries for liberty and rights is announced.. we have become mere troublemakers in the eyes of the public at large..
We need to identify our Domestic Enemy for what they are by their actions, their ideology and their infrastructure. We Must STOP identifying them, even in daily conversations as democrats, progressives and liberals and rinos.. and call them what they have self identified themselves as.. our Domestic Enemy. Their ranks consist not only of the ruling class of elites but also those who support them in all forms and manners like govt agencies, media, etc.. and that means anyone, the Quisling nation within a nation.

We have to spread that identification across the nation on every blog and media outlet available to us to show the nation and the people how these treasonous bastards are seen in the real world. Until we can succeed at properly identifying our common domestic enemy we remain the only enemy the people see.

Congratulation Papa Mike. You are one of the few who “get’s it”.
The IRS is NOT part of the .gov. They work for the Federal Reserve, bringing in all that ill gotten loot for the banksters to feed on. The IRS is not part of the Internal Revenue, which is FedGov. They are a for profit debt collection agency (Internal Revenue Tax and Audit Service (IRS) hqtr in Puerto Rico, incorporated 7/12/1933 in Delaware) operating under the color of law as a US Federal tax enforcement agency.
Do they have Class 3 licenses for all those sawed off shotguns and machineguns they own? I doubt it, they just said they could own them. And most of those guns are illegal in many states they operate in also.

  34. Proposal for 2012 campaign: Logo and ‘Hook Phrase’: “Sic Semper Tyrannis”

    some background…
“Sic Semper Tyrannis” translates as “Thus Always unto Tyrants”, or “Death unto Tyrants”. This phrase is the Virginia state motto, and appears on the state flag and official seals and such.

The phrase has been invoked historically in Europe and other parts of the world as an epithet or rallying cry against abuse of power. In the U.S. it has particular infamy as the words shouted by John Wilkes Booth on stage after his final discussion with Mr Lincoln at at Ford’s Theater in Washington DC, on Good Friday, April 14 1865.

According to wikipedia, the phrase is said to have originated with Marcus Junius Brutus during the assassination of Julius Caesar. The phrase was recommended by George Mason to the Virginia Convention in 1776, as part of the state’s seal. [At a previous state convention one year before, Patrick Henry proposed arming the Virginia militia and delivered his “give me liberty or give me death” speech to rally support for the measure. So by 1776 they were deciding on mottos, flags, seals, and crests.] The Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia shows Virtue, spear in hand, with her foot on the prostrate form of Tyranny, whose crown lies nearby. The Seal was planned by Mason and designed by George Wythe, who signed the United States Declaration of Independence and taught law to Thomas Jefferson.

A common joke in Virginia, referencing the image on the state seal and dating at least as far back as the Civil War, is that “Sic semper tyrannis” actually means “Get your foot off my neck.”
The phrase is also the motto of the United States Navy attack submarine named for the state, the USS Virginia. It is also the motto of the U.S. city Allentown, the third largest city in Pennsylvania, and is referenced in the official state song of Maryland.

Our forefathers said to King George and to Abe Lincoln: “Get your foot off my neck”. The series stands at 1-1, and the other team has taken the field and is warming up for round 3. It would be good to win this next match in the series, and deliver unto tyrants what they always deserve.

fyi- Benjamin Franklin’s suggestion for the Great Seal of the United States included the phrase “Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God.”

    • It would be good to win this next match in the series, and deliver unto tyrants what they always deserve.

Yes, and it only became the official state flag at the beginning of the Late Unpleasantness.:)
