More From Colonel Cooper

“…It is okay to shoot an unarmed woman in the face at 200 yards as long as you are told to do it by somebody in authority. It is okay to cut your wife’s throat as long as you are rich, famous – and black. It is okay for a special counsel of the federal government to decide that the feds did not fire into the Mount Carmel compound – even though we all saw the pictures of them doing so. It is okay to lie under oath if you are the chief executive officer of the United States.

Patrick Henry said that “These are the times that try men’s souls,” but he never suspected how trying the times might become.”

LtCol John Dean “Jeff” Cooper, USMC (retired)
May 10, 1920 – September 25, 2006

That assessment was penned by Colonel Cooper in 2000.

Think about how much worse things have become since then.

Then ask yourself why the Bad People will not just keep destroying until they have totally enslaved this continent.

Finally, ask yourself these two questions:

1) Why would the Bad People ever stop?

2) What would Colonel Cooper do, if he were alive and vibrant in 2012?

  1. 1) Why would the Bad People ever stop?

They will not stop unless their lives are threatened.

    2) What would Colonel Cooper do, if he were alive and vibrant in 2012?

At the age of 91, probably not much. I plan to stay out of their way as much as possible but it seems that is starting to become impossible. I hope, when the time comes, that I have the testicular fortitude to do what needs doing to individuals that will likely attack me just because. Perhaps, if enough of them get killed or critically debilitated they will limp off and lick their wounds and leave me alone, but I ain’t bettin’ on it, not one bit.

  2. “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.” – Thomas Paine

How very true then and how very true now.

And another from Mr. Paine: “It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government.”

These quotes, taken together, along with the musings of Colonel Cooper and other stalwarts throughout American history, lay a clear burden upon this generation to pick up the gauntlet to rescue that which was wrested from despotism and bequeathed as a birthright for posterity.

The time to ‘walk the talk’ is here; those people who wish to see Freedom sink into the abyss of totalitarianism have already announced their intentions and have been marching inexorably forward to their objective.

It’s time to stem the tide….

  3. Nawp, it’s time to feed the hogs.

  4. Answers: No. 1 – the bad people will never stop, because they have everything going for them. And No. 2 – the question is rhetorical, as we all know what Col. Cooper would do, and it has nothing to do with elections and voting booths.

Yes, it’s time to stem the tide. Let’s get started…

  5. “WWCCD?” I think he would have gone down shooting before he’d see tyranny solidify in America.

  6. Surprised me when I saw that this was written in 2000. Posted.

  7. “Jeff Cooper’s Commentaries” can be read over and over again. Every word is carefully chosen and every sentence carefully crafted.

  8. I’ll disagree with ghostsniper, point 2 … Even at the age of 91, the Guru would be planning, advising, cajoling and inspiring. Hell … he seems to be doing so post-mortem.

    • “…he seems to be doing so post-mortem.”

      Bingo.

Cooper is one of the foremost among those who taught me to see and to think more clearly. His moral clarity and unblinking honesty became my guide and my goal.

  9. We have all spoken of our “Government” as if it was some large nebulous entity (which it can be if we let it). We tend to forget that this government can still be about the people…but only if we hold those accountable who betray that trust. If we have a beef with Uncle Sam it needs to be with the self serving crooks that have made their way into places of power…Senators and Congressmen and Judges who seek power and riches at our cost and at our children’s cost. If they have passed laws to hide behind and protect themselves from accountability then it is up to the people to remind them. If they legislate from the bench then it is encumbent upon the people to remove them. The people of this country could not stand up to our military if it is unleashed on us…the peoples only recourse would be to go after those in power. The politicians and judges need to be reminded of that possibility. There are some that will grab power if we let them. Don’t think that there aren’t many in the military who would shoot that woman in the face when ordered too. We have allowed people to be brainwashed and we should not take for granted that the young people know what we know…and that they will value the freedoms that so many have died for… It is time for this generation to make a stand.
