LF: Countering The UAV Threat

Goodness.

Remember, too, that UAVs work both ways.

Payloads of less than 1 pound and cheap RC airframes can be useful.

Very useful.

  1. Electric RC aircraft have been around long enough that their technology is relatively mature now.

They are very quiet already and will a little engineering (reduction drive turning a larger diameter, slower turning prop) will be very stealthy.

Useful for overflying the tent of a Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and letting them have the business end of a downward firing explosive device.

    Just a thought.

  2. Simpler/Cheaper yet very useful technology:
“Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency” (DTMF) decoder controlled relay – Make one that gets its audio signal from a handie-talkie FRS/GMRS/HAM radio… With this you can have a safe/secure way to energize a relay from a great distance. Its great for turning on/off lights, opening/closing gates, or even opening an irrigation valve. You can control just about anything that you can think of.
