Train More, Bitch Less

Screw it.

There’s gear that needs work.

Skills-at-arms that need refreshing and expanding.

Tribe members that need to improve.

Food that needs to be stored.

Other gear that needs to be cached.

New plan:

Train more, bitch less.

Screw it.

  1. Timely advice! Train more, prep more, bitch none.

  2. The Trainer

    Amen and amen!!

  3. It’s not like we didn’t know this was coming.

  4. Our former base CO got tired of the whining by some reserve deployers who whined about no Skype, not enough water, “we gotta sleep in tents?” what d’ya mean we can’t go to the club tonight?” and other minutiae, while ostensibly learning a new (for them) skill called “route clearance.” (For the unwashed you’re gonna go downrange and invite people to really try to blow the shit out of you on the same road they tried it on yesterday.)

The CO had the MWR folks (capitalistas all) gem up a dirty Ranger-green T-shirt whose simple slogan is now the unofficial motto:
“Just Shut Up & Train” – anyone on base, Soldier or civilian could get one free if they beat the ol’ man in the 5K… (Dave, we miss ya.)

  5. hear him, hear him!

  6. Exactly what I’ve been doing this week!

  7. Awwww…. What? Ya mean no more tinkle fests betwixt various factions along the anarchist/libertarian/constitutionalist rainbow continuum?

    Today’s training exercise:

Straighten out the circular firing squad into a line all aiming at our common Enemy/.

This would appear to FreeFor’s most strenuous, difficult and N.E.C.E.S.S.A.R.Y. FTE.

Ya don’t have to like it………..

  8. … would appear to be FreeFor’s

  9. Some Guy in OR

    Hear, hear.

    As the man said,

“Do that damn thing and quit bullshitting with it.”

One option would to be to discontinue discussion of mainstream politics and focus on “the meat.”

  10. If it feels bad, do it!

  11. Honestly, there’s not much left to be said.

  12. Yes, and yes.

    Or, phrased more Lyrically:

“Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues,
And you know it don’t come easy.”

Best think Ringo Starr ever put pen to paper for (yeah, I know George Harrison may have had his hand in it as well).

    Additionally, phrased more Presidentially :

“I want to see you shoot the way you shout.”

    -Theodore Roosevelt

Go out and earn your right to sing the blues, first, before you start to shout.

    Keep your powder dry,

    Atlas Shrug

  15. Well, yeah, I guess so.

If we’re not gonna go out and confront them, I guess running, pumping iron, weapons training, etc. is better than nothing.

Temps here in south Florida now are in the mid 90’s with humidity in the 80’s. Five mile runs are taking a toll on this 60 year old body. I’m not sure how much longer I can do it.

Gonna do a full kit run run soon. Would like to stretch it to three miles from the two miles from this time last summer. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to do it.

But let’s keep up the good work. It’ll be worth something. I hope.
