1) What is the IIIPSFA?

The III Percent Patriots Society for America is a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt educational organization established in 2014 to restore rightful liberty in America. “Rightful liberty” means, in Thomas Jefferson’s words:

[U]nobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’ because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

We like that idea, and we think a lot of other men, women, and children will like it, too.

2) OK – now really – who are you guys?

Oh – you want the real story? OK, but remember – this is code word stuff, subject to all of the provisions of the official Secret Squirrel oath and code of conduct:

Peaceable men and women, passionately committed to individual freedom and political liberty, educating and supporting other like-minded individuals.

3) Are you a militia?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No, but we in the Society are supportive of militias, other consensual freedom-minded groups, and individuals who believe in fundamental human rights and are willing to work to re-establish those freedoms in America

4) What is the mission of your organization?

We’ll spare you a repeat of the Secret Squirrel routine, but really – we say what we mean, and we mean what we say. The III Percent Patriots Society for America was established to work for and achieve the restoration of rightful liberty in America. Nothing more – and nothing less.

5) What does that really mean?

First off, it means we have a heck of a lot of work to do.

Go read Harvey Silverglate’s Three Felonies A Day website at http://www.threefeloniesaday.com/Youtoo/tabid/86/Default.aspx . Better yet, go and read his book.

How many people in modern-day America know what Silverglate is saying, let alone understand it?

More work.

Now add in all of the Snowden disclosures of domestic data interception and intelligence analysis by Federal agencies.

More work.

Fast and Furious? Benghazi? IRS emails?

Still more work.

To re-establish rightful liberty in America, the Society has to

a) awaken people to the tyrannical threats faced by all Americans,

b) provide them with the information they will need to change that situation, and finally,

c) support them as they do just that.

In other words, a LOT of work.

6) How do you propose to do that?

You start with a core group of people who aren’t afraid of hard work and who understand the situation. Then you look for gaps and fill them. Wash, rinse, repeat. You’d be really surprised what happens once people realize that their consent is all that holds the entire Potemkin village together. Withdraw that consent, weather the ensuing storm, and build for the first time in living memory a society based on individual freedom and opportunity.

7) Won’t that mean anarchy and destruction of society?

Ask yourself these questions:

Did I not rob a single other human being today because of the police?

Or did I not do it because I am not a person who robs people?

America is in the position it is today because generation after generation has been taught that the police and other government agencies are the only thing holding back chaos. Such a belief is just not true. Individuals who refuse to be predators are the core of society, and frankly, government is simply not the answer to all (or even most) problems in life.

8) When did you begin your organization?

Although it has been in the works for some time, we launched the Society on June 15, 2014.

9) What have you done so far?

So far, we’ve

· established our presence on the web,

· opened the membership roles, and

· begun the process of outfitting one of our first projects, which is designed to respond to situations like the Bundy Ranch and make sure that the truth gets out, regardless of what the government and their media accomplices do or not do.

10) Can anyone join IIIPSFA?

Anyone who wants to help restore rightful liberty in America is free to do so, regardless of their race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, or any other of the false divisions used by the global oligarchs to hold onto their power and keep the masses fighting among themselves.

11) How do you differ from the NRA?

Well, we certainly aren’t Washington insiders who have been part of every major Federal gun control measure since the National Firearms Act of 1934, if that’s what you mean. More importantly, while we are very pro-gun, we are at our cores individual freedom zealots, for we know what Ayn Rand meant when she said:

The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

12) How do you differ from the Oathkeepers?

As an organization, we aren’t a mildly-less-senile American Legion post holding a copsucker/copsuckee co-dependency square dance to raise money and sell swag. Our individual members don’t have a track record of turning and running away at the first hint of possible danger or controversy. We are a group of men and women who run towards the fight, not away.

13) How do you differ from smaller gun rights organizations?

We’re just as poor or poorer, so that’s one thing we have in common. We are broader in our interest areas than groups such as JPFO or GOA, but any individual, group, or business that supports the pursuit of rightful liberty is an ally and a potential friend.

14) There’s a lot of folks who claim to be for freedom and want my money – why should I join you guys?

There’s only one real question to answer:

Do you see the Society as a way that you can help the fight for rightful liberty in America?

If so, you should consider joining us in any way that you can do so. If not, that’s OK with us too.

15) Won’t I be endangering myself and my family by joining the Society?

You and your family are already in danger from the ravages of an out-of-control government that believes that you, your children, and all of your assets already belong to it. What remains to be seen is what you plan to do about it. Helping us restore rightful liberty is one constructive way to channel your outrage.

16) I’ve heard some bad things about some of the people in the Society – is it true?

On the internet, you never know what someone is going to say about you. The truth is that at least two of our members have criminal convictions. Both are productive, respectable members of society today – and that’s what counts for us. Do your own research, consider the sources of the information and their motives, and make up your own mind. Take nothing on faith.

17) What about violence?

As individuals, every single one of us has a God-given right of self-defense. Many in the modern world would infringe upon that natural right or ban it altogether. Such people are evil, and we stand in direct, open opposition to them. As an organization, the Society has the same policy as did the Minutemen at Lexington Green:

Don’t fire unless fired on.

That works for us, and we hope it works for you.

18) Can you tell us more about your future plans?

Not any specifics right now, but keep an eye on our blog at http://iiipercentsociety.blogspot.com. You’ll know the latest right there.

19) Do you expect trouble from government investigators?

You’re not suggesting that government agencies such as the IRS might harass individuals and groups based on their political beliefs, are you? That’s crazy talk right there… 🙂

20) What about kids – can they join?

At present, the Society does not have a junior membership program planned. But kids are always welcome at any of our events, subject of course to the good judgment of their moms and dads.

This post is financed by the Support Account for Peacekeeping Operations for a period of at least one year. Extension of appointment will be subject to budgetary approval.

Staff members are subject to the authority of the Secretary-General and to assignment by him or her. In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures.

Applicants from troop- and police-contributing countries who are found most suitable and recommended for selection will be given due consideration for positions in a peacekeeping operation or Headquarters support account funded positions in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Field Support, taking into account their contribution to United Nations peacekeeping, in accordance with General Assembly resolutions 66/265 and 67/287.

Org. Setting and Reporting

These positions are located in field missions of Peace Operations. The DDR Officer typically reports to the head of a work unit or to a senior official responsible for DDR operations in a field location, though this may vary depending on the mission structure. The focus of these jobs is to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of DDR programmes, operations and other related activities in the country or region concerned.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

(a) Act as a Focal Point for DDR components for 2-3 missions, responsible for planning, support to implementation and evaluation

• Participate in DPKO and Integrated Task Force planning meetings for the establishment of a new peacekeeping mission with a potential DDR component;

• Provide technical assistance to peace negotiations;

• Participate in technical assessment missions;

• Advise, develop and review (as appropriate) initial DDR functional strategy and concept of operations for further development into a full programme by the DDR component and the National DDR Commission;

• Develop and review the DDR input to the reports of the Secretary-General to the Security Council;

• Develop initial result-based framework and budget for new DDR components in new mission;

• Liaise with UNDP and donor community to raise voluntary contributions for DDR programmes;

• Present and/or defend new and subsequent DDR budgetary requirements in the ACABQ and the 5th Committee of the General Assembly;

• Develop staffing structure and terms of reference for a DDR component, including terms of integration with other UN agencies, funds and programmes;

• Provide technical clearance for applicants to DDR units in new and ongoing missions;

• Provide Headquarters support in planning the civilian and military logistics support for DDR;

• Continually review DDR programme strategy and implementation through relevant documents, reports and code cables;

• Conduct field missions to assess implementation of established DDR programmes;

• Identify potential problems and issues to be addressed and suggest remedies to DDR units in the field;

• Liaise with Member States, UN actors and other DDR interested partners to represent the mission’s DDR component at the Headquarters level;

• Establish and maintain an outreach network with CSOs and IGOs active in the area of DDR.

(b) Support the doctrine development work in the area of DDR in the department, with the Interagency working group on DDR and other relevant national and international actors working on DDR issues

• Contribute to department-level or Policy Committee-level policy development work on DDR and related issues;

• Maintain and further develop the Integrated DDR Standards – a set of interagency policies, guidelines and procedures on DDR;

• On behalf of the Chief of the DDR Section, co-chair the lnter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on DDR, contribute to bringing coherence to the interaction of the UN system and its partners on DDR;

• Supervise the Associate Expert (Junior Professional Officer) in the development and maintenance of the web-based United Nations DDR Resource Centre;

• Liaise with others (UN, regional organisations and Member States) providing DDR training.

Competencies

• PROFESSIONALISM: Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to particular sector, functional area or other specialized field. Ability to identify issues, analyze and participate in the resolution of issues/problems. Ability to conduct data collection using various methods. Conceptual analytical and evaluative skills to conduct independent research and analysis, including familiarity with and experience in the use of various research sources, including electronic sources on the internet, intranet and other databases. Ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities. Shows pride in work and in achievements; demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations. Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.

• COMMUNICATION: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately; asks questions to clarify, and exhibits interest in having two-way communication; tailors language, tone, style and format to match audience; demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.

• PLANNING AND ORGANIZING: Develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning; monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary; uses time efficiently.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, social sciences, management, international economics, international relations, law, or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration or related area. Experience working within peacekeeping, peace-building or development programmes operations is desirable. Experience with small arms control, conflict/post-conflict crisis management, economic recovery is desirable. Experience coordinating multiple partner agencies, funds or programmes is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.

Assessment Method

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

The United Nations shall place no restrictions on the eligibility of men and women to participate in any capacity and under conditions of equality in its principal and subsidiary organs. (Charter of the United Nations – Chapter 3, article 8). The United Nations Secretariat is a non-smoking environment.

Candidates will be required to meet the requirements of Article 101, paragraph 3, of the Charter as well as the requirements of the position. The recent irritability increase in the freedom blogosphere brought on by a few players attempting to organize communities causes one to think some reminders are in order.

Various schemes are advanced for FREEFOR operations, ranging from leaderless resistance to Little Groups of Paratroopers (LGOP), and how they will rise up and devastate the forces of evil. Rubbish. The former is banditry and the latter fails to consider that the LGOPs had orders, commander’s intents, and end states before they ever boarded their aircraft.

What proponents of those schemes and lesser, related ones, fail to consider are the effects of coordination, synchronization, unity of effort, and mass that leadership and direction bring to the fight. Without it, and without agreeing to follow some guidance from outside, FREEFOR will be defeated in detail, piece by piece, and without much effort.

We had a taste of this in Iraq, with what some call open source insurgency. There was no formal organization, in the sense of a staff, but they were organized into a community network, with a variety of skills available. This resulted in a tasking and decision making cycle that was much smaller and more efficient than that of DOD, DOS, etc. The lack of a defined structure made them quite difficult to kill much above the squad level, while the return on their investment was tremendous.

The insurgency in Iraq was a hundred or so small, relatively autonomous groups that shared skills and concentrated on targets that maximized returns on effort. Simply put, they collaborated to pick fights they could win. They received some direction, guidance, and funding toward their immediate goals, keeping in mind their desired end state which, simply put, was infidels out.

FREEFOR lacks this simple, agreed-upon end state. Rightful liberty, constitutional restoration, Anarchocapitalististan, etc., fail to define an end state that is achievable. It also prevents defining supporting tasks and the prioritization of resources. Makes one nostalgic for secession….

The insurgents couldn’t have done it without coordination, synchronization, and cooperation. If you’re weeping for leadership, ask yourself if you’re willing to follow someone who has your desired end state in mind.
