Giving Of Thanks

Oconee-sheriffs

Ivy Mike gives one example.

Most importantly, I thank each of you – be you a reader, a commenter, or a contributor – for being here and keeping this place going and growing.

May God bless and keep you and yours in the coming year.

Enjoy the day.

  1. Thanks to you, CA, for the vital info WRSA provides. FREEFOR is stronger because of it.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving CA!

  3. And Oconee county is right next to uber-commie-lib Athens-Clarke county.
    Go figure.

  4. Yes, that thanks goes 2 ways. Call it mutually supporting fires. And that note Ivy MIke posted; well, that’s just flat-out neat.

Off-topic but that note brings to mind that comm scanning I’ve done over time gives me a good baseline as to general demeanor of the local LE contrasted with other areas. Efforts of previous chief bore good fruit in minimizing responses where no law was being broken & the local PD and support they generally enjoy is a result of that. Sadly not a widespread condition & contrasts with NKVD approaches of some neighboring departments.

Cranberry relish from local ingredients. Mmm. The country could use more palate cleansers. 🙂

    • Od Green checking in with a Happy Thanksgiving to you all, especially CA. Your posts and links have been much food for thought as we raise the next generation of patriots!

  5. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office:
Babies in cribs can explode sometimes. But it’s more of a wet runny explosion instead of a fire explosion. Some people get upset about this, but since we’re the sheriff’s department, it’s okay.

    A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;– for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish Constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;– for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;– and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;– to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

Please keep in mind the weather conditions when you are using the Tannerite-type exploding targets. They will start fires! A trio of shooters in my A/O were criminally prosecuted and forced to pay all the costs connected with a large brush/forest fire they started by shooting exploding targets during our dry season.

  8. Thanks for keeping the faith and giving us electrolytes!

  9. Same to you and yours, CA.

A friend of mine and some buds were “doing the Tannerite experiment” and had a dime dropped by some “concerned citizens”…when the sheriff’s deputies showed up, the first thing out of their mouth was, “how much did you use and how big was the blast!” They stuck around for another demo.

While we have good folks here in Montana, there are plenty of zips in the wire.

Thanks for providing us with solid intel CA.

  11. We cranked off some Tannerite awhile back. Three LE agencies and the FD rolled out looking for us, in a place where about anything still goes. It was a teachable moment:

Buddy’s cell phone rang with scanner info from his friend. (Inadvertent: All the guy heard was a report of an explosion on XXX Road and he knew it was us. 🙂 )
Watched them stage in a parking lot and fan out searching.
Got scanner fired up and listened to traffic.
    ID’d agencies involved.
    General sense of tension noted.

Next time I’m out that way, there will be video and audio recording.

Turned out to be quite a training event. All disclaimers apply….

  12. The thanks all goes to WRSA!

  13. How many new cases of Ebola have appeared in America recently? Has Ebola turned out to be not as communicable as feared? If so, then which news source turned out to have the most accurate information on Ebola behavior given American medical and cultural customs?

Working on a land nav course of instruction for the militia unit today. No turkey, no family, no friends. A little beer though.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving!
