Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets.
Don’t know how legit this is, but it evidently just happened…
the Marshall Islands Navy will take care of the situation
Oh, it happened. My comment on fb…”In the old days, this starts a war. In the new days, you don’t even know which side the players are on, except that they’re against you.”
“Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets.”
Is this Waltz and Country dance? Or is it “Rock and Roll”? If it is rap crap, then don’t forget your personal protective equipment (PPE) includes comms and Intel. Nice radio gear.
Van Halen, I believe.
I prefer the earlier Grateful Dead version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS9lOH6rIkI
Terrapin Station is a superb album.
It is indeed edumacayshunal to listen to the comings and goings of this “event”. I spent an hour or so tuned in last night on the Five O scanner app.
My takeawAyis that a truly motovated and skilled group of merry makers would quickly overwhelm opfor. You should have heard the Lt trying to exhort his “forces” to move forward to out flank. Something to the effect of “Come on damnit you have to move as one toward that group or we will be outflanked, you have to move now! Dont just stay there.”
And this against a group of idiots w mtovs and Doritos. When it gets real this will be a huge fail for these commie cunts and they know it. Now we know it too.
Damn straight. Truth. Here’s their sitrep—“They’re everywhere!”
Shall we make a rundown of which cities we’ll be seeing said, “dancing?”
Well why not. Would you care to make your list?
I live in frontier-land, according to fedgov stats. But I’ve traveled some. Am genuinely curious as to your take on which cities and in what sort of opfor-orchestrated torrent that your predicted list might play out.
Some of us are so far out, the only way they’d end up here is if they got lost. And sadly, no gas either.
I like to think they would never get out of the cities, there are more threats to deal with, that they can’t get out past city limits, and where would they go from there, Lysite?
Some folks are uplinking their local scanners to the internet, where we can listen to what’s going on in places like Ferguson or Baltimore. We should each have a good trunk tracking scanner for local frequencies.
And people think the poleece will go door to door confiscating guns.
NOT BLOODY LIKELY. here the cops will have 2 or 3 squad cars for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.
Door to door is probably ok for them. They can chose the time of the engagement, and they can make sure they outnumber their opponent. What they probably wouldn’t try to do is to disarm a large group of armed folks who heavily outnumber number them.
A small group could then, while the pigs are going door-to-door, do the same to THEIR families. They have set the Rules of Engagement. Let them and theirs enjoy the fruits of their labors. Sure would be a shame if they came home from some raids and their whores were dead…
I like the way this dood thinks.
From Zerohedge: a live ustream channel playing Baltimore police and fire comms: ustream.tv/channel/no-thiefs-allowed
I heard one reporter express exasperation at the fact that the police were moving in one line, ‘Like Redcoats in 1776″. I found that an apropos statement and enlightening too. Hope everyone took notes, and we can all compare prior to class. 😉
Of course, the reporters are almost always on the side of the rioters. They are always terribly surprised when the mob turns on them.
This is considered the state of the art in handheld scanners. Completely programmable from local frequency resources such as http://www.radioreference.com, it’s a good piece o kit.
Kinda pricey at $410.
Got anything a little less costly?
In order to get trunk tracking you will spend some money, but without that, your scanner is only marginally useful. Nearly all PDs are on some sort of trunked system, including some digital modes which the above scanner will also decode. The only thing it cannot decode is actual encrypted signals, that’s because they have a secret decryption key.
Look for the previous model on eBay, you can save quite a lot and still get good functionality. I think it’s a 396XT.
You’re right, EXACTLY $100 less (to DTG below), and brand new too, at amazon. I put it on my wish list and will grab it next week.
There’s a review on this model that says the Uniden Handheld TrunkTracker IV Digital Police Scanner (BCD396XT) (an older model) works really well and does things the ‘state of the art’ model can’t. It’s about $100 cheaper. The review was done by a life long HAM, too. Thought it provided some good contrast perspective as the price threw me for a loop, too.
And in a few months probably OBSOLETE! Our county folks went digital just a few yrs ago, all the search and rescue had to get new gear too.
How soon before they upgrade again?
I’m sick and tired of buying new electronic shit every 2-3 yrs, and then my buddies get new radios again. Some of you live for that, got have the newest and nicest, I’m about ready to throw in the towel and go back to a fukn string and some cans.

The Wire is worth watching, filmed in B-more, more honest than their city council. One of the shows better lines was if you are smart and black what are you doing in Baltimore? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFpovfkzYRs
The Wire has some educational moments.
Ghostsniper, take a look in pawnshops and second hand, I picked up a uniden handheld for $20 works like a champ.
