Quote Of The Decade

goodluckcharm-1024x1024

“I don’t know about you; I cannot speak for you. But this is what I know:

– I do not need or want a king — “liberty minded” or otherwise, and I will not be part of a group of people that wants one.
– I do not need a leader to tell me how to live according to principles and self-discipline.
– I will not be party to violations of those principles, whether on a macro or micro basis; I will not affiliate with those who violate them.
– I will make a difference in my own neighborhood, my own community. I do not need a label or group affiliation to do so.
– I will continue to think for myself, to collect facts and make decisions based on those facts instead of my emotions.”

    1 Samuel 8:10-22

So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking for a king from him. He said, “These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots. And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plow his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants. He will take the tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants. He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves. And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”

But the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel. And they said, “No! But there shall be a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” And when Samuel had heard all the words of the people, he repeated them in the ears of the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey their voice and make them a king.”

    • Yeah … no Kings … but a Constitution is good, and enables none of those bad things to happen.

      Apparently.

“No kings!” sounds totally great, until people realize that what preceded the Kings of Israel were Judges.

For the uninformed, pre-Monarchy Israel was essentially a theocracy. The Israelites had the Decalogue and the Torah, and were inhabiting the Promised Land. God had also given them the Tabernacle, at that point all they had to do was keep the Commandments and it would be cool

      But they didn’t.

So about every 20-40 years, and occasionally overlapping, God would raise up a Judge to set things aright. The Judge would personally, and occasionally with an army, see to it that things got sorted out. This, universally, meant a body count, Sometimes, it was large.

So yes, combining absolute power with the zealousness of the Spanish Inquisition sounds like a vast improvement over just having someone having absolute power.

  3. Yup. That right there.
    You fucking know it Kit.
    Bravo!

  4. Excellent! Short, sweet, and to the point.

  5. Kit is quite right, to a point. The Patriot community was insane to follow Ammon Bundy up to Oregon. Besides 3 dozen people being charged with felonies, their stupid actions allowed the Feds the right to hundreds of search warrants to look into every part of our lives. It was the wrong hill to die on. The vast majority of Patriots stayed home and stayed legal, though.
Since then ,Black lives matter has gunned down dozens of cops, killing a dozen at least. Since Oregon, ISIS has massacred hundreds if not thousand around the world and went wild just this last Saturday here in Amerika. The feds simply don’t have enough agents to focus on law abiding Patriots and keep track of the exploding BLM and ISIS at the same time. By keeping a low profile, the group can recover and expand exponentially.
And Kit, by separating from the group, has become what we all should kinda be. Lone wolves who are totally defensive in nature, and not bringing unnecessary attention to this demographic.

  6. Well said, & good timing.

  7. And, there is no such thing as luck, nor coincidence.

  8. Absolutely! Right on point and I could not agree more and frankly I adopted your approach long ago.

Controlling what you can control…what a brilliant idea. Everyone loves to ask, “But what can I do in the face of this?” Well, there it is. “But there’s so much more, so why bother doing that?”

It was the scam all along—there is nothing more.

I think everyone’s missing the point.

The saints (and those gathered here) don’t need a government to tell us how to live. We’re the sort that are generally going to just keep to ourselves, because we’re not the sort to be too nosy. We’ll take care of our people, work hard at our jobs, and have our fun on the weekends.

Governments don’t exist to deal with people like us.

Governments exist because we’re the exceptions. We need cops because *somebody* has to put boot to meth-cooker-/rapist/thief/murderer/name-your-scumbag ass, or we have to do it ourselves. It’s become a full-time job, so it’s easier to just have a professional do the full-time job. The job has to exist in a civilized society or it stops being civilized, and some form of cop has basically always existed, even if they’re getting out of hand today.

And we need laws and judges to arbitrate disputes and deal with criminals. Oh, no, not us saints, none of us have ever caused a ruckus, but the sinners below us. Because when someone has a beer too many and kills little Sarah-Jane Smith, something must be done, fair and dispassionately, or we’re just a murderous mob.

And that’s the point. By having one guy (a King) or a group of people (Legislature/Parliament/Whatever) to set laws, and make decisions, it keeps the rest of us from being an unorganized mess of assholes that go lynch guilty folks whenever we get pissed off.

Civilization requires order. Order requires one submitting to the decrees of society, even if one occasionally finds them obnoxious. We can have an argument about government overreach, obtrusive laws, and how many people should share absolute power of life and death over the populace, but make no mistake, at no point in human history have those things not existed. Someone *always* has the authority to decide someone else gets to live or die, even if we’re just a mob with no rulers at all.

Near as I can tell, that’s all the “Liberty” movement wants to be: A nation of E-4 schmucks, with no sergeants to organize the tactical fight, let alone field-grade officers, no post-victory plans other than “And then we’ll have Freedom because Freedom!”, and near as I can tell, they’re actually planning on giving votes to the surviving members of MARXFOR and Team Jihad.

I’ve been reading “Liberty-minded” blogs for nearly a decade, and I’ve yet to see anyone with anything resembling an actual plan for victory. Everybody seems to jump from “And that’s how the Neighborhood Overwatch defends the subdivision” to “And then we restore the Constitution, so we’ll have freedom again.”

Somewhere in between, there’s a big blank spot where things like “This is how we procure shoulder-fired missiles from foreign agencies to deal with enemy armored and airborne assets,” “this is how we’re going to network on a national level so we can tie up MARXFOR’s relatively limited manpower in the cities so we can control everything else” and “This is how we’re going to organize our national-level command structure so that we can successfully make the switch from a guerilla insurgency to a ground-taking, city-conquering, war-winning military”.

Because without those? This is just mental masturbation, with about as much usefulness.

    • I agree with MLS. We must accept the reality that were are a fallen people.

Anarchy might work for young Rambos but a limited government is necessary to support civility for all. God clearly recognized the need for government. Our Republic was excellent while Americans remained God-fearing people.

I believe hope lies in the creation of a new republic with new borders. At this point our best shot is via balkanization coincidental with the coming chaos. Breakup of the USSR resulted in many republics remaining undesirable. But there was a worthy exception: Estonia. Picture an Estonia and add God-fearing people and a Constitution.

    • Mr. Shadow League whatever,

      1. Did you seriously get “anarchy” out of that? LOL In God’s name, how?
      2. What kind of moron would answer your question about “how we procure shoulder-fired missiles from foreign agencies to deal with enemy armored and airborne assets” on the internet? Or any of the other questions you wanted answers to?
      3. What makes you think no one’s come up with a plan for that?

You’re basically saying “well, *I* haven’t seen anyone answer these questions on the internet where I can see them, and ot my satisfaction, so therefore it’s apparent that no one has a plan.”

Speak for yourself. Not everyone is waiting for someone to write them an itemized how-to.

    • Emancipate yourself from mental slavery

“Governments don’t exist to deal with people like us.”

      Bullshit.

That is precisely why governments exist. ALL governments, ALL the time. Throughout history. To FORCE those who will not worship the STATE into compliance.

ALL government action is AIMED AT mis-allocation of resources, at prohibiting individuals from pursuing their own best interests, at CREATING CHAOS, and providing the “solution” to the problem. The solution IS ALWAYS MORE GOVERNMENT. How do you not see that?

Governments USURP the rights of individuals. Got a problem with a neighbor stealing your stuff, assaulting your family, etc? You are restrained from action through THE LAW.

One would need to be a polished bronze turd to believe that legislators. judges and such vermin act in your best interest. Oh, and of course THEY NEVER break the law, because they’re above it, don’cha see?

Do you actually go through your daily life waiting on directions from your masters? Are you really that feeble minded?

That meth user? Stealing stuff & using meth BECAUSE OF THE LAW against (some) substances.

It appears that in your (nearly) decade of reading you have learned absolutely NOTHING. Still worshiping the god of STATE and prostrating before its high priests.

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed and hence clamorous to be led to safety by an endless series of imaginary hobgoblins” (Mencken)

      Cue opie in 1-2-3…

  11. The 3%, in my opinion, is simply the name that some patriots have chosen to identify themselves. I frankly don’t care how Liberty loving individuals choose to identify themselves, if they truly love Liberty, and respect my right to self determination.
To me these things are much less about names, and much more about good men, building our own tribes, and preparing to withstand the coming storm. Anyone can “join” a “movement” that has no leaders, no command structure, no membership roster, etc. it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. I know a guy that identifies as a “3per” that I wouldn’t welcome into my group, no matter the situation.

    Am I a “3%er”?
I don’t know. I am a Christin, a husband, and a father. In this life the responsibility I take the most seriously is the one of a father. My children are beautiful, and are my main motivation. I do what I do, in order to maximize the chances that they will survive and thrive in the hard times coming, and I pray to God that I’m doing enough to protect me and mine through the storm.
