Quote Of The Upcoming War

“The real damage is done by those millions who want to ‘survive.’ The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn.”

— Sophie Scholl, member of The White Rose resistance group

  1. That reads like a plea for help from the disinterested masses. So articulate, it breaks my heart to think what happened to her and her compatriots when it all could have been avoided if the cowards had mustered the balls she showed in her short life. I fear America is much the same as those cowards hoping evil would somehow overlook them.

  2. Very moving. The material at the link is even more so.

  3. this Scholl attempted to disrupt an anti-communist exhibition in Nazi-land. She choose poorly.

  4. This old coot fought for constitutional government for 30 years. We lost. Get over it. My advice is for young families in particular. It is NOT cowardly to keep off the radar screen and out of harm’s way. Hope lies in a new nation with new borders. The location you choose to live will make all the difference. Choose wisely.

    • And where exactly do you propose we run to so we can set up a “new nation”?…. I ain’t running from MY country. Feel free to run away though.. And by all means, let us know how it goes in this new and improved nation you find….

      • First of all LoL No, your ‘country’ simply no longer exists. Can you name one right in the Bill of Rights that has not been destroyed? Your community is now your country. Are you with me so far?

Our family moved from Atlanta to NW Montana. It is called strategic relocation, not running. You do have a grasp for the basic principles of survival? Never mind.

Chaos is coming and the potential for Balkanization is great. You can stay in Atlanta or any other Commie hellhole. Good luck. We will pray for your children.

  5. I’d rather slide into the pearly gates broken busted up wore out screaming yeeee haaaaa what a helluva ride than to come into them saying whew glad I made it in one piece !

  6. Sorry but the members of the “antinazi” white rose were stupid. They ALL died in the camps. “Not getting involved” is not an option in a police state.

    • Living a life without principles is (in my opinion) also stupid: if all roads lead to the same place in the end, why not at least attempt to live a bit larger that one’s self? Maybe it might just give a sense of pride and point the way for someone else …………

    • No, they didn’t “ALL” die in the camps. Seven were executed following their trials (there were three trials), including the author of the quote above. Many more were imprisoned.

What, exactly, did they do that was so stupid? 73 years later we’re still talking about them. 1) They were content to be nameless and faceless workers in the resistance until they were made public. 2) They accomplished much in a very short time. Even their trials and executions accomplished something, which is more than I can say for the so-called “martyrs of the movement” these days.

  7. ” it all could have been avoided if the cowards had mustered the balls she showed in her short life.” So true. I guess we still have ball-less weak pussies in this day and time. Some here certainly don’t measure up to being a human.

  8. The White Rose was exemplary in their courage, anchored by their faith in God. One of the first people involved was a young man by the name of Alexander Schmorell. In 2012, he was glorified as a saint in the Orthodox Christian Church. One of my favorite quotes that he and Hans Scholl (Sophie’s brother) is as follows:

Man is free, to be sure, but without the true God he is defenceless against the principle of evil. He is a like rudderless ship, at the mercy of the storm, an infant without his mother, a cloud dissolving into thin air. – Hans Scholl/Alexander Schmorell, Leaflet 4 of the White Rose

Also worth watching is a film called “Sophie Scholl – The Last Days”, which was, once upon a time, available at Netflix.

And to the blog writer – thank you for posting about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose!

    • They were noble soldiers of peace who fought for the Global Slave Masters against the Leader of Germany and Western Civilization. They were noble, but wrong.
