First saw him touring with The Marshall Tucker Band in Norfolk VA, then saw the end of the same tour in Boise ID, 1976, man those were some great concerts.

  3. A man who is not scared or intimidated by the minions of Satan. He will stand up and duel wIth Lucifer himself. God bless Charlie Daniels.

  4. Hell of a guy.

  5. The Usual Suspect

    Happy birthday Charlie !

  6. I just saw Charlie and his band this past Summer, and they were smokin’ hot. Very tight, plus Charlie still has his music Mojo, BIG TIME. If you can, check him out

  11. Daniels, my kind of rap music.

  12. Happy Birthday to the Legend, the Wilmington Native!

The Legend of Wooley Swamp and Caballo Diablo- songs that will forever be part of me as a Carolina Boy breaking horses and hanging out in Love Valley.

Hearing him sing ‘How Great Thou Art’ a capella live was one of the most moving experiences I’ve ever had. If it doesn’t move you to tears you’re not a man of faith. You should hear him play if he’s anywhere within a few hours; he’s hands down the best musician I’ve ever seen live.

  13. Down the misty lanes of memory, Charlie’s “Saigon” does it for me.
A beautiful soul and a Gift to us all- Happy Birthday Charlie!

  14. All the good of above comments, plus a continued thanks for all the great songs from him I got to play at roadhouses 30+ yrs ago. Doing medleys of his stuff wasn’t even work. But, ever remembered, he is the real deal.

  15. Saddle Tramp…the first CDB record….is a classic. More like Allman Bros. than what CDB turned out to be later, imo. Happy birfday.
