  1. Growing up in Alabama, by age eight I could proficiently shoot arrows and .22s. At twelve, I could camp out by myself and feed myself with the 20 gauge. I could also use the 30-30 to harvest deer and process them. At 17, I joined the Marines, became an expert marksman and learned how to drink.

Men have to be Men. No secret formula–no miracle.

    Just HARD WORK

Most, but not all. After I retired in 2002, I started a second career as a school teacher. I was very blessed because I began teaching in a private, Christian School on the southern Oregon coast. The young men and women who I was privileged to educate were single-minded in their efforts to have not only sound minds, but sound bodies. That started in their homes. And, they were not always two-parent homes.
Now, here in Rawles Land and working at a public high school, I see pretty much the opposite. Yes, the jocks are tough and single-minded because the coaches expect that of them. But, culture and political correctness has infected the education system to the point where I also see quite a few shambling, texting, slack-jawed mouth-breathing Mall Zombies stumbling around between classes. I have to be very careful what I say and how I act lest I get snitched off by some cocoa-slurping pajama boy.
The great leveler will be when the “economic correction” hits. There still exists in my A/O a huge hunting-shooting culture which is promoted even in the local leftist fish wrap. This area was very big on The Donald and they tolerate the small group of local leftists who routinely yammer away on the editorial page. Some are actively involved in counter-intelligence and more than one of these Reds has received a night letter.
Time will tell. Every one is still way too comfortable and pursuing instant gratification. But, I do run across in my travels a small and hard-core group of parents who are teaching their children how to ride, shoot straight, and speak the truth. All is not lost.

    I really hated reading that.

My brothers and I were raised men by a Marine and mom helped. Compared to the rest our age (we are all in our 50’s) we have always been ‘squared away’…at least imo based on looking at society today.

My grandkids are now old enough for the same treatment. This summer is going to be a priority for ‘old school’ training.

They already have Rule #1 memorized…absolutely no hand held device of any kind and no tv. (Wife is just about ready to can it) When asked why no HHD, “cause poppy will smash it with a bleeping hammer.”

Wife and I both getting additional training this year, separate and together. We have always done a little every year. For selfish reasons we were putting the finishing touches on how we were going to do biz and survive what may be coming. It was always put on the back-burner. We are as good as we can hope for.

I really appreciate ALL the comments here.

“don’t go down without one helluva fight”

  5. Yep. That’s about right.

  6. Priceless.

  7. At the age of 4 they’re already not sure if they’re a boy or an girl. Parent(s) let’s school teach him.

  8. This is what “education” is doing to children today:

    These people are completely insane.

  9. The emasculated American males are shades of the Eloi in H.G. Well’s “The Time Machine.” They’re physically and mentally too weak to fight, and end up being eaten by the subterranean Morlocks. Somehow, these pitiful creatures feel that there’s no reason to fight, and no reason to establish or defend borders; everyone can “just get along.” They also feel that some unknown force will maintain them.

Anyone reading the Bible can see that humanity has not changed in over five thousand years. Empires will rise, become corrupt and week, and will be overtaken by other empires on their way up. Of course, if you ask Costco, the Bible is listed under “fiction.”

  10. CA,

You sure know how to get the BP rising.

  11. There is a great dividing line in America unlike anytime previously. From living my entire life in rural areas, but also traveling out into metropolitan enclaves through the country because of work, it has always struck me how different the two cultures are in regards to how boys grow up to be men.
It must be noted that in the last 15 years or so the deliberate pharmaceutical-ization of our male youth has been detrimental in effected both America’s, with no doubt in my mind has been deliberate at some level, along with the extinction of the male role model as tradition and substance of good character in the media and social entertainment.
The one thing I see and have life experience of that I can attest to with the surety of living it, boys in the deeply rural America I’m familiar with are born with a rifle in one hand and a shovel, axe, or joystick of a piece of farm, logging, or mining equipment in the other.
This is particularly true in WV where I live now, and to a large extent in the north country of upper New England where I was born and raised.

These ridges and hollows of WV have a inherent tradition of instilling in young boys the art of firearms, hunting and the various bush crafts that have been such an integral part of life since the Scots Irish first settled these mountains.
Farming, both cattle and crop contribute greatly to those traditions, and the major employment, inherently deadly occupations of logging and coal mining, shape the character of boys and men in these parts.

In other words there ain’t many pussies in these mountains, most men I’m acquainted with and are friends with are consummate dead eye shots with a rifle, they understand the land, they are connected to it in every way, are hardy, self sufficient, they are no bullshit men that make a culture where most live by your word is your bond.
There’s great and worthy reasons for this, not the least the culture of manliness associated with living a life full of dangerous activities most outside rural areas have no experience of in their modern need it get it right away convenience and instant gratification. In general the insular environment of suburban and urban life just simply doesn’t test a man to the extent of being closely connected to the land and life of that rural America.
I’m not alone in my upbringing, where I’m from it is normal. I was involved in uniting, fishing, trapping and many aspects of bush craft from the time I can remember, so young that I had to be carried across small streams or a bog, I was expected to retrieve grouse pheasant ducks an adult shot, I was given a Stevens 22 take down cracks hot when I was 4 years old and taught to use it, a cut down 16 gauge O-U shotgun when I was 5. There was nothing unusual about this, if anything it was a right of passage I was expected to value all my life. I still use both those rifles today, and with deep abiding sense of being a man it brings meaning and pleasure to my life that I have hopefully passed on to a number of young men by doing the same as done for me.

My point here being, yes there are lots of men who do not know what a rifle, a shovel, and an axe is for. But there are millions who do. And let me tell you, regardless of what others say, we are men who are not to be trifled with in our environment. We are civilized because we know how and what danger is, because life is fragile and precious, our roots are deep into the land, and because we live close to and with many dangers in our daily lives, we are dangerous men.
It is something that can not be quantified or qualified by the standards of the mainstream outside it. It is something lived and ingrained. Many outside it do not recognize it, they can’t. But as men we recognize the lack of it in others almost instantly, simply because we measure ourselves among our peers.
Most of us know what may be coming, we don’t want it, it is such a waste, but we have always been ready for it, and if it comes to it, many of us understand what death and killing is about, how to defend our hearts so we can be men who are able to do certain deeds and rise when the duty is called on us to defend and protect what matters most to us.

There is no bragging in this. It just is, because your a man. That is what it is.
So for those who entertain ideas we will go quietly, are rednecks and hillbillies, uneducated ignorant mouth breathers, who are bitter and bigots, go ahead, you better bring an army, bring two, your going to need it.
Once killing time starts, it won’t end till there are none of you left or none of us with the breath to kill you and bury you to fertilize this land we love.

  12. Got that right.
Builds character and perseverance, and nothing can replace perseverance.

  13. Mr. Weasel,

What a great thing to know a MAN, went into teaching our youth. I love women but a masculine figure in front of the classroom is sorely needed in this country.

God Bless You Mr. W…..you’re one of a few. Good for you and your students. They’re damn lucky to have you !

  14. Heh, heh, not my homeschooled boys, fluent in Jiu Jitsu and boxing, great with bb guns, pellet rifles, potato cannons, .22’s, Glocks and main battle rifles. They all play multiple instruments (bluegrass and old country being the fav), can dance, can work in wood and metals, run the family business and hold their own in a Theological debate. Screw letting the .gov handle their education.

In no way am I saying you have to live where I do to be a man. I’ll bet there a lot more Men of courage and character than those who control the narrative want anyone to know, a lot more. A few I know.
I’m not alone in my upbringing, where I’m from it is normal. I was involved in uniting, fishing, trapping and many aspects of bush craft from the time I can remember, so young that I had to be carried across small streams or a bog, I was expected to retrieve grouse pheasant ducks an adult shot, carry a brace of dripping wet muskrats through a swamp till you couldn’t feel your feet or hands, till and weed the family track garden from when you got off the school bus till dark and supper, eat everything shot or caught, dug or picked. I was given a Stevens 22 take down Crackshot when I was 4 years old and taught to use it, a cut down 16 gauge O-U shotgun when I was 5. Last week I had to put down 2 heifers one who was paralyzed from not being able to fully birth her calf after 6 hours of labor in a snowstorm, one that broke her hip socket when she went into the wind break to calve, slipping in 6 inches of snow, and a cow who got a foot entangled in fence wire while she was birthing. Putting a bullet in the head each of those valued and gentle creatures after hours of trying to save them is something that takes a piece of your heart with it. And I think, what of the shit-stirrers who are threatening to kill us White Men, come? I know I’ll harden my heart and when that happens, I’ll be a ruthless blood thirsty fucker, the only way to stop me from killing them is to kill me. It is the last thing I want. My heart and soul will never be the same. But it won’t stop me. I only whish just to be left alone. Man will it make me fucking bullshit determined if they try.

To me it is something that can not be quantified or qualified by the standards of the mainstream outside it. It is something lived and ingrained. Many outside it do not recognize it, I don’t think they can, in fact they probably have little conception what it is. But as men we recognize the lack of it in others almost instantly, simply because we measure ourselves among our peers.
Most of us know what may be coming, we don’t want it, it is such a waste, but we have always been ready for it, and if it comes to it, many of us understand what death and killing is about, how brutal and absolute, how to defend our hearts so we can be men who are able to do certain deeds and rise when the duty is called on us to defend and protect what matters most to us.

There is no bragging in this. It just is, because your a man. That is what it is.

  16. Wife’s about to finish 35 years in public education, all in the class room. I’m proud of her, and her contribution. A few minutes ago the NEA, that National Education Association sent an email, about letting the riots begin, no shit.

In a return email, I inquired as to exactly how rioting was in the best interests of the students.

Acknowledged that we ” our side” we’re aware that NEA had been compromised by socialists and outright communists.

I then asked the young lady, which she was. Oddly enough I got no response.

Weasel good on you, hat tip. Southern Oregon hasn’t chang d a very conservative area.

Of course, for the Spartans – at age 7, the boy was taken away from his family and raised by the state. Buggered repeatedly by it, too. But that was only for the Homoioi. The Perioeci got no such training, and the Helots just got killed.

  19. Fred Seymour, Jr.

God bless you forge. I would consider it an honor to fight along side of you, shoulder to shoulder in defending our folk.

  20. I stand in awe at all this masculine preparedness. FWIW, I still wear the same size jean as I did 50 years ago: 32X32.

  21. SemperFi, 0321

I wouldn’t trade one minute of my time in the Corps away, even a week at CC (Correctional Custody;hard labor, busting rocks with sledgehammers).
Learned so many things; survival skills, shooting skills, life skills and leadership skills that I couldn’t have learned anywhere else. Come from a long line of German soldiers, so of course it was also a genetic thing for me, but I can’t think of a better place to grow up. You learn to push yourself to the limit, and then a little more.
Most of my civilian friends are so selfish and self absorbed, they never had to share with another 100 people, including the bathroom.

Having been back to college the last few yrs, I’m shocked at the young males I see, many have been so effeminate you think they’re girls, and a lot of the girls loathe them. Several of the young women are ranch girls, they could easily kick the shit out of the boys. But where do these creatures come from? I’m shocked there aren’t enough dad’s around to straighten up their son’s until you meet dad, he’s the same way! We have an epidemic of limp wristed men in this country today.

  22. DWEEZIL THE WEASEL

Thank you for the compliment, sir. As long as I can still walk, talk, and think, teenagers will have exposure to truth-telling patriots like Charles Beard, Thomas DiLorenzo, Kenneth Royce, and the books and ideas from Richard Maybury and Bluestocking Press. I have to be super-careful as I have already been raked over the coals for referring to Mohammedans as Muzzies. I took a day off today for the doc, but I imagine when I report tomorrow morning the butt-hurt will be off the chart over Mrs. DeVos. One of my daughter’s profs at NIC was in a total-meltdown tantrum Tuesday night and took it out on her entire class.
But, truth is its own defense and as conditions continue to deteriorate, more will awaken and listen. Little innuendos and questions sometimes have the desired effect and the thinking caps are donned. May God Bless you and yours. Stay safe. Keep prepping. Bleib ubrig.

  23. and no “weight challenged”(morbidly obese pigs) children.

  24. Odgreen, your boys sound just like our homeschooled boys (and our girls can take care of themselves) in Montana. They are our greatest hope in a new republic.

  25. I’m pretty sure that Eunuchs are not a viable Archetype for a successful society or social order. I know Rome & China used them as servants. Whether Social Engineered, Chemically castrated or psychologically castrated no society will flourish without Heroes, Creators, Explorers & Sages.

Me thinks somebody got too carried away w/ their power & MK Ultra programming & out of control w/ trying to redesign Vainglorious Transhumanist Chimera Eunuchs.

IIRC there are twelve primary types that symbolize basic human motivations. Each type has its own set of values, meanings and personality traits. The twelve types are divided into three sets of four, namely Ego, Soul and Self. The types in each set share a common driving source, for example types within the Ego set are driven to fulfill ego-defined agendas. I suspect some are capable of multiple roles as I know I am. So I don’t necessarily subscribe to this as an absolute but more of a indicator or societal composition formula.

    EGO

Innocent (Utopian, traditionalist, naive, mystic, saint, romantic, dreamer)
Orphan/Regular Guy or Gal (good old boy, everyman, the person next door, the realist, the working stiff, the solid citizen, the good neighbor, the silent majority)
Hero (warrior, crusader, rescuer, superhero, soldier, dragon slayer, the winner and the team player)
Caregiver (saint, altruist, parent, helper, supporter)

    SOUL

(rebel, revolutionary, wild man, the misfit, or iconoclast)
Explorer (seeker, iconoclast, wanderer, individualist, pilgrim)
Creator (artist, inventor, innovator, musician, writer or dreamer)
Lover (partner, friend, intimate, enthusiast, sensualist, spouse, team-builder)

    SELF

Jester (fool, trickster, joker, practical joker or comedian)
Sage (expert, scholar, detective, advisor, thinker, philosopher, academic, researcher, thinker, planner, professional, mentor, teacher, contemplative)
Magician (visionary, catalyst, inventor, charismatic leader, shaman, healer, medicine man)
Ruler (boss, leader, aristocrat, king, queen, politician, role model, manager or administrator)

I already think there are too many Ruler – Ego & wannabe Rebel types. I suspect if the 4th Turning materializes we shall find out.

Whether or not the writers are sincere in their beliefs as stated in the editorials, or not, is wholly irrelevant.

What *is* relevant is the underlying intent…

These individuals, through their writings, justify preemptive violence as means for shutting down anything in opposition to their personal ideological bent. Dark shit, dude.

It is fiction, listed under; Ancient desert mythology, part of the Abrahamic trilogy. Quadrilogy, if you count the Book of Mormon.

Now I understand why he’s always M-F’ing and insulting folks without fear of retribution. An Internet anonymous with “Short man’s complex”. What a joke THAT is.

No, being a depressed alcoholic/krokodil addict with a sub-50 year lifespan does tend to keep the weight down. And that’s for the lucky minority that don’t get aborted.

We’re done here.

  41. Dan lll, I think you’ve described him to a “t…fAt”. But, despite his claims to the contrary, even as an expatriate – he still pays his ‘debt’ to the government in the form of taxes… so he doesn’t merit a visit from any of the “badged thugs” he always demeans. Who, I’m sure, would love to drop in on his “island” – and remind him of just who the real ‘warlord’ is. With boot and baton. Despite him having “no internet footprint”. tfAt = fool
    heh.

  43. Yeah, most people don’t know that history. Everything they know about the Spartans they learned from “300” or a MSU football game.

By comparison the warrior tribes to the southeast of them along the Mediterranean didn’t tolerate homosexuality. They fought a guerilla war against the Seleucid Empire. The insurgents were led by Judah Maccabee.

  44. They killed the nuclear family and now they have essentially killed BSA.

In my limited experience, it seems this mainly affects white males.
