But…But…Who Will Build The Roads And Make All Of The Rules?

Check your premises.

Are you a freedomista, or are you a “my rules are right” person?

And if the latter, what is your policy on dissenters?

Serious questions.

Having watched and read Berwick’s stuff in the past, imo, this is THE most intelligent thing this dbag has ever said.

Seems he made some good decision earlier in his life, but as time went on he couldn’t “pour piss out of a boot, with the directions on the heel.” (RIP Gramma…) Poor biz choices, poor partner selection, poor research, etc. If it wasn’t for living in Mehico and taking advantage of its cheap labor, he’d be broke.

Also, would someone give this fucker lessons on how to smoke…I’m a ns and I don’t know why it bothers me!

  2. And if the latter, what is your policy on dissenters?

CA, a very pertinent and timely question. I’ve noted in a number of comment threads, in various places, especially since the election of Trump to the presidency, an “I can’t wait to start shooting Leftists” attitude displayed, coupled with a wondering (often mockingly so to goad individuals on the Right) as to why those on the Right, in response to the violent actions already undertaken by certain members of the Left, are not already shooting Leftist ilk, i.e. dissenters.

The concise reason as to why individuals on the Right should not start shooting dissenters, Leftists, is that unless said Leftist actually has a gun pointed at you and you are in fear of your life, it would simply be cold blooded murder to shoot a Leftist out on the street. For example, I know, in my immediate neighborhood and its surrounds, largely where individuals’ political loyalties lie. If I should begin moving through my neighborhood shooting the Leftists in their homes, or on their way to work, or what have you, without violent provocation against me on their part, I’d be no different from them and their sad “heroes” such as Stalin, Che, Castro, etc.

One should not mistake Right leaning individuals’ forbearance to utilize their arms as cowardice or weakness. Prudent conscientiousness and awareness are the smart stance, still. If shooting does commence, a terrible resolve will be needed to eliminate the threat(s), no doubt, but shooting dissenters as a proactive measure is simply murder.

  3. who will build all the roads?

who fucking cares? have you looked at the condition of murkas roads and bridges?

a pack of monkeys could come close to doing the same job, and work for peanuts -literally.

    and make all the rules?

pretty sure there will always an abundance of those who think you need a new law… why should we pay people for that?

+100! Very well stated comment, and the two quotes above are pure gold!.

  6. Next time somebody tells you that capitalism is bad, ask them; ‘What is capital and from where does it come?’

I agree, what is being called capitalism isn’t at all.

  7. Well put. Thanks.

  8. “capitalism” is an imaginary impossible theory for actual humans to implement in their “Utopia”, just as “communism” or “socialism” is. I would prefer to be in a position of power where fair trade and agreed-up rules are followed and quite a bit of “voluntaryism” is happening, with the option to not be present or trade reserved for all sides. But, the current reality keeps interrupting.

Essay question: How would “capitalism” have prevented/avoided mass murder of their own civilians by National governments world-wide in their quest for more-perfect societies during the 20th Century? Justify mass murder of your countrymen in the future, with specific examples for the Tribunals of Reconciliation to consider in your defense.

Berwick is badmouthing the geographic USA and the current residents in favor of his consulting/foreign passport/bugout plans. IMHO, being a non-native speaker in a foreign country, without being attached by marriage to a well-placed native, is fine in good times but makes you and your “rich foreigner” family a primary target for criminals and regime-changers in bad times. Not good.

  9. The good news is… no one has been shot, and here we are. Just as long as they (and we) stick to the… “rules”, imagine where we will be.

You are slaves. Get over it. And they mean to burden you, and your posterity, with heavier yokes. And they mean to do it without firing a shot, and so far, have succeeded… without firing a shot.

    Because… freedumb. Isn’t dumbocracy grand!

It is good news, that no one has been shot, as of yet, because of sticking to the “rules,” as you say. Those rules, at least the ones I am sticking to, are my rules, which I am imposing on myself. It does not mean you need to stick to them Chasing Rabbits. But be prepared to run rabbit if you choose to put rules of just engagement aside.

You are slaves. Get over it.

Not all individuals are slaves. I am not, and neither need you be a slave, unless you choose to accept enslavement. Does the state steal from us? Yes. Does the state attempt to pull us down? Yes. Does the state burden us and our children? Yes. And all without a shot, true, and yet I still walk tall and proud because I daily attempt to thwart the state’s interference in my life, and accept the risks I take. I prefer not to start shooting, but that does not mean I am cowering in a hole unprepared to shoot if I must.

  12. …and if you don’t smoke Tarrlytons, then F You!!

  13. “Who will build the roads, etc?”
The same people who already do!
political parasites DON’T build jack shit!..all they do is steal property
from everyone else, waste a whole lot of what doesn’t go into their pockets
and then pay someone else to build what people need or want.

As for the ‘rules’ that they spew forth…nothing but threats and coercive bullshit!!

Stop falling into the trap of the parasites and think outside the
fricking sheep pen…live your own life free of the parasites!

  14. Freedomista, Sandinista…no difference.

“…not even close to capitalism (YES IT IS…its exactly what it is, so is communism). Capitalism doesn’t have a central bank (YES IT DOES, where else will it bail its cronies from), capitalism doesn’t have taxes (YES, IT DOES, to prevent competition), it doesn’t have regulations (YES IT DOES, to prevent bottom-up competition) Capitalism is just voluntary transactions (except for all of the aforementioned stuff, the competition for resources and need for expansion, and stifling of any and all competition, and the need to perpetuate a market).

It is indeed sad that so many are confused. Including him. Voluntaryism? Voluntarily stupid.

Policy for dissenters? That’s quite simple.

  15. Are you a freedomista, or are you a “my rules are right” person?.

here on the island, there are no rules other than MYOB and don’t piss anyone off…

did I mention there are no poLICE here?
We have a volunteer fire dept, and a tribal council.

  16. I am reminded of those famous words of Thomas Jefferson:

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends by pointing a gun at you, and you have the democratic majority behind you, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it… but ONLY when a gun is pointing at your face.

    Good luck.

  17. Jimmy the Saint

That raises a valid point, but it sort of misstates the circumstances to a degree. If it was simply a case of the Left minding it’s own business, then yes, attacking them would be murder. However, at least significant parts of the Left are calling for our death and advancing aggressively. At some point, forbearance simply becomes bearing one’s own throat to the blade.

Trying to figure out the failsafe point is difficult.

  18. Libertarians vote about how to leave each other alone: is behavior X a marketplace transaction, or an aggression (trespass)? Exactly what qualities are property? Is this amount of that smoke in the air a pollution (trespass), homesteaded, or irrelevant? As there is no known solution to the tragedy of the commons, libertarians arrange for everything possible not to be a commons. Maybe free-ranged migratory ocean fish need cattle brands.

Slaveowners figure out how to force other people to do stuff by threatening to murder them. Most humans want to be slaveowners.

Fear of a god’s torture makes men slaves of priests. Priests in DC, Rome, Brussels, or Mecca; religion or politics is the same thing, it supplies lies for morals.

Apologies for the State are full of Road Herrings.

“Essay question: How would “capitalism” have prevented/avoided mass murder of their own civilians by National governments world-wide in their quest for more-perfect societies during the 20th Century?”

Easy answer: One is an economic model which doesn’t require force or coercion to implement. In fact, force or coercion precludes its practice (i.e. current situation). The others (communism/socialism) are an economic model that REQUIRE force or coercion to implement. They cannot exist without it.

  21. pdxr13. Nope. Capitalism happens when you leave people alone. Like letting a field go without tilling, insecticides, or herbicides, it is natural, and complex. Hardly utopian,

  22. I hate to bust some bubbles but even in the lax of capitalist systems there are ‘rules’. It is called contract law. Lacking an ability of enforcement there is no contract law and hence no capitalist system. And lest one thinks that shunning might be a equitable means, its still a form of enforcement.

  23. Just wait until the Dam in CommieFornia breaks.
Should be a hoot. More Arc’s of Crisis’s in route. Incrementalism in full display. The financial system has to be redone otherwise it’s the same old same old.

  24. Freedomisti are Reds?

    Really?

  25. I believe that no “pure” economic philosophy is compatible with actual humans who are fully-operational. A Republic that respects property rights, treats citizens equally under the law, and respected freedom to associate (or not) would be a nice start. Was that the 3rd French Republic? The first 10 Amendments to the US Constitution were a good try as well. Watch for concentration of power.
