  2. US foreign service is a joke. Ambassadors are picked based on political donations not merit. Staff by and large don’t speak the language of the country they are in. The result is faulty baseline intelligence from which people with no risk make bad assumptions.

    Those few in USFS that take their mission seriously are to be praised. There are just too few of them.
