The IKEA Humans: The Social Base Of Contemporary Liberalism

Grounded in culture and history, or the proverbial rootless cosmopolitans?

Politics in 2020 and beyond will turn on that question.

  2. No, politics will turn on whether the many millions of dead or ineligible voters can be purged from the rolls….Otherwise, we will have strictly a Potemkin democracy, at best….

Yes, Amerika is full of Veneerlings. They are what we all refer to here as “Progressives” or Cosmic White Marxists. And, they will all be running for their very lives once the Blue Hives start melting down.

    • Right on the mark!

The first thing that crossed my mind after reading the entire article was that it describes to a T the parasite class and it’s fawning corp of enablers and flunkies..the “ikea humans” aren’t really human at all, they’re a hive minded collectivist mass that for the most part can only live and feel comfortable living in large cities (they’d recoil in abject trembling horror if they found themselves dropped into either Worland, Tensleep or Shoshoni Wyoming).
Such collectivist fleshbags have NO idea about how “life is” nor do they care..their perception of reality is what they derive from the electronic nipple and the emotion driven blather their fellow hivers spout to them in soothing agreeable non-threatening tonality. Fix a flat, turn a spade of earth to make/prep a garden, change the oil on a vehicle, or appreciate the reason for learning how to defend oneself/family from violent human predators?..”Oh no!!..we don’t do that..only the uneducated do those things, we’re above that and we must atone for our historic mistreatment of people’s of other cultures..yes, let us show our goodness by standing with “the other” especially if they’re Muslim..we owe it to them!!”

IMHO, when the balloon goes up, I shed no tears for the dungheaps called cities; may the “ikea humans” be destroyed along with them!

I also wondered if the writer of the article was related to Joe..he is equally long winded.

  4. A piece I read about 6 months back called the IKEA humans, verticals. His observation was that other than two airborne causeways between LA-NYC, a vertical was more at home going 300 miles from NYC to DC. They would be totally lost in reference going that same distance from NYC to Youngstown Ohio.

Too many of the urban class all they know are cities. And like McDonalds all the cities on the planet are slowly trending alike. Oh the skyline might be different between Miami vs Melbourne but the comfortable underpinnings are common; A Hilton to arise from bed, a Starbucks to start your day, an update to their facebook page from anywhere, a trendy bistro serving ‘authentic texmex’ made by a visa holder from Singapore. They never leave their urban cocoon regardless of where they are on the planet.

My sole contribution is this: IKEA furniture is built to ultimately be trashed. Their owners face the same fate in their lives I am afraid.

    • “They never leave their urban cocoon regardless of where they are on the planet.”

Yup!! Ken Royce (Boston T. Party) called them exactly in his Gun Bible when he described them as “larval Alan Alda’s that couldn’t hack real work/life in places like Wyoming so that’s why they stay in their safe cocoons of NYC, L.A. or Philadelphia”.

Totally useless fleshbags that coddle wetbacks, dindus and moslems among others…be funny as hell to see them get turned on by their ‘pets’ when the hives implode…

    • I live in MA – that sort of behavior is definitely prevalent here, to the point where there are maps showing the differences:

People in MA go up to NH and Maine for vacation. Western MA is like a no-go zone for the most part. I know people who live in Boston – who are literally scared to travel outside the 128 belt. The reality is that a lot of the city dwellers I’ve run across are narrow minded as hell – and scared of the “real” world out there. They like living in their cocoon.

It’s why I (sort of) look forward to the balloon going up. We need a purge.

As I was writing this – I think WW2 provides some good examples of how city dwellers operate. This same behavior was seen across multiple cities in Europe: even though the cities were bombed into dust. Some people just simply would not leave. Go read some history of the Berlin fighting in 1945 or Stalingrad during the siege. People stayed – and got caught there. They simply would not leave.

  5. like the oil painting. near mirror image of grant wood’s “american gothic”, and not just in looks but in meaning. the story though does present the pending fork in the road for those not of old school american thinking. those who don’t know where they are, don’t know who they are.

  6. I wonder if anybody will actually read (as in /read/) this article. The comments will tell./ S//

    • It was overly wordy. The guy is a writer, after all.
If there is no war to dispose of the deprecated humans, what sort of “neighborhood cleanup days” do you envision SFC?

I don’t think They, or even (They), have a plan, it’s simply flying by the seat of their pants every morning. Why else would they allow a simple thing like impatience threaten the thrones they now sit upon? Ennui? We give them too much credit, that’s our heaviest chain.

    • Ok. I read it. I’m glad I read it.

    • I did read the article as well (many years ago) the Dickens’ story (the meaning forty plus years ago was not lost on me given I worked for at that time some very wealthy folks – another story about big money and politics). Looking at the disconnect between big city folks and many that live in my area (very, very rural) where hard work is the norm (by choice of course) our society has grown so far apart in many ways, it is not surprising we are where we are at today (financially, politically, etc.) and IMHO we are never going to come together – only separate more as time goes on – and at some point in the future, there will be a spark. Hope it is sooner rather than later given my age and age related physical shortcomings. All this is coupled (again in my opinion) by the political/race baiters out there that mean to drive the bus over the edge to their own benefit. As always: follow the money and who benefits?

  7. One of my ancestors died in the mines. The company dumped his body on the front porch at the end of the work day. Nothing has changed. Food for thought, stay out of the mines.

    by Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez(*)

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a
terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz.

We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world. The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world.

These are the people we burned. And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world,
drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive
free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of
their naive hosts. And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill,
    intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their
determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

  10. Fuck em all. Once again some hack following the model of placing people and stuff in neat little groupings, aptly named by the left. This is the canned life modeled and sold to suburban America.

We’re were told by mass media marketing, who’s cool, what’s cool, what’s fashionable, what car to drive, who and how to hang out with.

If your fucking stupid enough to fall for this bullshit, you got what you deserve.

Once upon a time Americans were free thinkers and quick to call bullshit, on this crap. This model/ marketing is so prevalent daily on the boob rude, it’s easy to fall victim to.

Pick YOUR life, don’t let others pick it for you.

  11. Rarely do I read a long article like that as most authors just repeat themselves over and over as if saying something over and over makes their points more believable. (spoiler alert: It doesn’t!)

The author hit some great points and missed a couple, IMHO. First among them is family structure and stability. One need only look as far as the black community in general to see what the loss of that structure is producing.

Second on my list is sense of community. ‘Back in the day’ there were various enclaves with national identity; Italian, Irish, Polish etc, and they exhibited actual, palpable pride in their neighborhoods while being fully invested in being an American. Ask IKEA people what it means to be an American and you will not get a coherent answer.

Next up: Rugged individualism and self reliance. The IKEA class have exactly zero amount of that. If they did, they wouldn’t be IKEA class, hollowed-out humans drifting along trying to find ‘meaning’.

I end with this: Christian values. The author said the IKEA people will say they are ‘spiritual’ but not ‘religious’. (I guess it takes an IKEA person to think that way.) Those are exclusive of one another. That’s like claiming to be a great golfer, while never having played golf.

  12. We are the hollow men
    We are the stuffed men
    Leaning together
    Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
    Our dried voices, when
    We whisper together
    Are quiet and meaningless
    As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
    In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,
    Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

    Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us—if at all—not as lost
    Violent souls, but only
    As the hollow men
    The stuffed men.

The Hollow Men, T.S. Eliot, 1925

  13. Meet the ‘ikea humans’, Jennifer and Jason.
Aka “the Aryans from Darien” exactly as described by Rosalind Russell in “Auntie Mame”.

They can FOAD as can all the rest just like them!!
Utterly useless ambulatory fleshbag fecal generating hive denizens..may their pet dindus, wetbacks and moslems tear them apart when their hive nests collapse, just as Bracken called it!!

  14. Way too many Veneerlings/Ikea personas on this earth; it is why the former US suffers so many woes. True-they never willingly leave a Blue Hive, unless it is for pretty pictures at the latest organic-non GMO-fully staffed winery/produce/flower “farm” for Faceberg. Mommy just sold her house in Pittsburg/Chicago/Seattle and moved to Florida? Well, thank God she put the cash proceeds into a joint checking account with my name on it! Now, I can pull $10,000 when I need it and there is no need for me to pay any taxes. (Unlike that poor working bastard who actually, physically, works for his money.) My bathroom is so 2009! I’ll just pull money from a charity we own and get an immediate update. No one EVER tracks charity money! Remember when Uncle Jose ran for office as Secretary of the Vice Chairmanship of the Office of Budget and Reconciliation? He has all this leftover cash……….
The ship keeps plowing through the pounding waves, loose boards and all. What these fools think, is that when the ship finally gives up and dives for the sea floor, they will jump into the life boat and sail away. Didn’t work out too well on the Titanic-or name your ship. This person won’t stay locked in steerage. I will be holding their heads under water, from that exhaulted life-raft. I assume that there are many like me.

  15. I guess it takes a Ph.d like Biagette to explain the political mores and their basis of a lot of the middle class, but why no explanation about the 60,000 American slaves he briefly alludes to? Who and where the hell are they? I know that slavery exists on a wide scale in Africa, and even in Asia, but where are they here? The number he cites sounds like a particular wedge in America. Prostitutes? Congressional Pages? Biagetti spreads the theory out wide and far about the IKEA people, but dwells on Clinton and her failed campaign. I was really left wondering what his central point was, the IKEA people, Clinton, or the barely suppressed rage of how industry and wealth has destroyed tribe, clan, and culture. I’m no fan of the IKEA people, and I identify myself as some one different. When it occurs to me to do so. I’m no college graduate, and i didn’t vote Clinton, not only because she is acidly amoral, but because as he cites, she was the absolutely worst candidate the D’s have ever had. Never even considered her. The upshot of all this is that we are on the cusp of exhaustion as a civilization. We’ve degenerated into spoiled children, ignoring the real world, to our great danger, and creating one we like better, albeit false.Payday is coming, and it’s our Payday, when we as a country, a civilization, a race, an ideology, get our comeuppance. History or Nature do not suffer fools, for long.

  16. BTW, I am a racist, and I know it. I don’t really care what other people may think of that. I got that way by the old fashioned method. Experience. Lack of honest experience is one of the nails in the coffin this country is easing into.

  17. Intriguing essay. But there is something deeply inherently hypocritical underlying the authors premise. He himself is an IKEA human, and can’t see whats right before him.
The last paragraph puts paid to the very cognitive dissonance dressed up as informed intelligence he is shoveling like manure.

Read this, pay attention to the last half, tell me that this guy is talking about the very things us dirt people are despised for, but when these characters speak of it, it is a noble aspiration, only legitimate if they are proponents of it. And thats their whole problem. They are the epitome of the race of snobbery and bigotry writ large. Talk about double standards.
And these chumps wouldn’t be able to recognize self determination, individualism, tribe family community, provincialism/agrarianism, Liberty in short, if it smacked them upside their fucking heads.
I looked real hard through the entire piece, twice, and I’d swear to God this guy has literally, for all his fancy wording and proper signaling of his lofty station & “education”, avoided the merest minuscule allusion to any component of liberty like it was the bubonic plague.
The closest he gets to the concepts of precepts of a free nation of Dirt people, as he so glibly puts it:
“…A strong and enduring civilization requires citizens willing to state their core principles and to argue openly for their vision of the good society.”

Hey asshole are you fucking kidding me?
When we say or do that, we are racists, nazies white supremacists domestic terrorists mouth breathers trailer trash blah blah blah.
You write like you invent a new state of being. Instead of the ones who are doing everything to destroy the very same thing. Liberty.

The dichotomy here is on a self extinction scale.
And they can not see it.
And thats their true problem. They are a subset of the State Slave Plantation, the ones who grease the political wheels and check off the right boxes.
Just wait till the bullets start flying, their entire world will come crashing down, and they only have themselves to blame for setting it in motion.
They own it lock stock & barrel.
What they are are the sycophant class, the most useful of useful dupes.
And while he superficially makes well of his Corporate Slave Class’s inherent shortcomings, he avoids the crux of it all.
Us dirt people want to be left alone. They have no right, no power, no legitimacy sticking their stuck up noses in our business.
    Go Fuck Yourself, as in…

“…Their liberal supporters, meanwhile, must take a long, unsparing look in the mirror. Those of us in the college-educated middle class face an unusual dilemma — being nobody, we must invent ourselves partly through the political commitments and duties we take up. It is time to decide where our loyalties truly lie (in particular, whether with those above us or below us on the social scale), and by extension, who we are. A strong and enduring civilization requires citizens willing to state their core principles and to argue openly for their vision of the good society. That entails a frank and honest contest over how power and resources should be allocated in our world. Some, of course, will opt to pursue naked self-interest – in which case, let them be unmasked for all to see. The rest of us must aspire to be citizens before before we can then claim to be fully human.”
