  1. The propositions, which did play an important part in the assimilation of previous generations of immigrants, have also been relentlessly attacked by the Left, and so there is little agreement on what they even are.

    Ask a leftist if they agree with this proposition: ““We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

    .. and you will be told that there is no Creator God, that’s a tool the patriarchy invented to control woman and minorities, the phrase “all men” is obviously sexist, the authors were slave-owners, that “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” are racist white code-words, etc.

    Obama spoke openly about how the Constitution was flawed because it only addressed ‘negative rights’ (the government shall not) and not ‘positive rights’ (like the government shall …feed you). So, even the mainstream left views the propositions as antiquated and no longer sufficient for the Brave New America they are building.

    The AltRight’s claim that “America is a shopping mall” comes closer to reality than the ‘Proposition Nation’ theory.

    To give the Devil his due: here is a recent article by NY Times David Brooks where he explicitly calls on conservatives to embrace Propostion Nation-ism over populism and Nationalism. This is as good a case as you will see:

        They cannot match one bullet to one barrel.

        Thats impossible.

        The only thing they can do is identify a bullet type, weight, and what kinda of rifling was used. IE polygonal or land and groove. They can also identify the twist rate, and number of scoring marks to identify how many lands and grooves a rifled barrel has.

        The “Fingerprint” Ballistics stuff is pure hollywood.

        If a Barrel could impart a unique mark on a bullet, then the inverse property would imply the machining used to make a barrel would impart unique characteristics to a barrel. Which is does, but the fact that millions of barrels are made on the same tooling over and over means that it is not admissible in court. Since 100,000 guns would have the exact same barrel characteristics.

            Not to mention that high velocity “varmint caliber” jacketed hollow points leave nothing but lead and copper bits, and maybe an intact base. Sometimes they are barely able to nail down the caliber used. They sure can’t tell a 22-250 from a .223, and maybe not even a 243, depending on how mangled and deformed the base is. If they find the base, and it didn’t exit and splatter against a wall or tree way down yonder.

            Then there is the subject of shotguns. Etc.

Ted Kaczinsky addresses it directly in “Industrial Society and Its Future”. And if you believe, they simply heed Christ’s warning, “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees”, which pretty well sums it up in all it’s myriad aspects.

        Liberty, and its pursuit to either success or failure, can ONLY be enjoined, and enjoyed, by the INDIVIDUAL. No ‘group’ has ever secured for itself any true liberty, nor can it. Every group is formed upon the basis of submission. Call it “consensus”, or “need”, or “mutual protection”, or whatever you like, its still just submission in one of its various forms. The question is and will always be, “what do you receive in exchange for what you submit yourself to?”. In the current context, I find that I I receive nothing of value, and am subject to grievous harm for my submission to “America” and it’s undeniable purpose.
        Thus, I resist. This is essential Justice, that man should refuse everything which is unjust – both within and without.

  4. The majority of the founders were deists and not strictly Christian alone. They were well versed in Masonic principles that argue indeed that ALL men are created. Of course if you bring in weak and substandard materials you can expect failure. This is however only a piece of the problem.
    People are of course the materials in this analogy. As many of you know People suck. The founders knew this. They understood that men are not stone and that we have our faults. What Masons in particular espouse is that Man himself is a work in progress. I think that what they would tell you is that the building does not function because of the collective ability of all of the materials. It functions because its framework is true and that as long as that framework is built on sound materials you can expect the building to remain in whole, even if on occasion you have to rebuild parts of it.
    What this means in practice is that we have a nation that is founded on ideals and principles, even if we dont always live up to those. We can have people from other cultures come into that nation, BUT we can and should be very selective in that process. Provided that we have a sufficient body of men that are committed to the ideals, that uphold the cultural framework and foundation the nation would be fine.

    Thats not what happened…

      Men meant white men. End of story. Why else was there the 3/5ths Rule, women had no vote, and one of the first things the elected Congress passed was on immigration, granting entrance to white men of good character?

        It was about representation. Slaves are not “people” they are animals, chattel, property. The representatives of the southern States, which had a certain population of slaves, wanted the slaves to be counted as “people” for the purposes of representation in Congress and not as “people” for the purposes of having free labor.

        The compromise also excluded Indians who were untaxed, but living in those States as well. Were those Indians “people” for the purposes of law and equity, but not “people” otherwise? Were Indians “…endowed by their creator with certain rights…”? Answer: They were people, but of another “nation”. They were not “We the people of the United States”.

        Slaves are property, not people, be they Negroes or Irish, be they slavs under the Romans or Whites under the Arabs.

        The 3/5 compromise was a way to say, “Let us set this aside for another day…”

        For the record, I detest the very concept of slavery. It is theft of a man’s life no less than murder. I know it has been practiced all through human history. So has wholesale murder of one’s opponents after a successful battle. The fact that it was commonly done doesn’t make it not murder.

  12. We Southern nationalists maintain, correctly, that the south is a nation and the government established by the awful constitution was an attempt by Hamilton, Washington, and Jay to create a proposition nation.

    The south had very little use for the Puritan dominated Yankee states, New York and states south of it were Middle Atlantic states, the southern states began with Maryland and progressed south to Georgia. As the south spread westward, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas were drawn into the south. None of these states had any use for, and frankly hated the New England states with their Puritan nonsense.

    The idea that we southern nationalists are remotely communist, that is favoring open borders, and various other communist ideas could hardly be more absurd. We’re opposed to Sodomite unions, infant murder (called abortions), female clergy, and a wide variety of things forced upon us by the actual proposition nation known as the United States of America.

      What’s interesting is that these modern day busybody crusaders no longer espouse Christianity, yet they have the same puritanical zealotry about them. They have rather seamlessly transitioned to a sort of secular religion, which is the best way I know to describe it despite the apparent contradiction in terms.

      The radical abolitionists, the suffragettes, the temperance movement, it was all just one moral crusade after another. They were the SJWs of their time, and there is something about them that demands a relentless identification and punishment of all heresies to their ideology. Once they’ve browbeat people into submission, they get to work imagining brand new heresies to police.

      What they did to the South, they quickly exported to the larger world. “The Ugly American” is what the rest of the world sees.

    few days of a Dale Carnegie Class ( I was younger then ).
    One trait that stood out, till today was – “I know people in the
    ranks that are going to stay in the ranks, simply because they
    haven’t the ability to get things done.”

    I think that a burning desire to help in achieving, no matter the “rank,”
    and of course, what is being “done,” is what gives each and every one
    of us character, among the varied characteristics – The good, the bad,
    or the ugly.
    When I was a small boy, every time I would see an airplane fly
    into this direction, I would imagine that America was up in the clouds
    somewhere. In the heavens I supposed. Time and space passes,
    in turbulence or calm winds, but the important way to strive to, I
    think is working at it, and be an American, a good one, or better,
    a man or woman of good character with good sound judgement,
    and striving towards that.

  19. Z-man is an atheist and so he runs into error when he travels certain roads. This is one of them, as he wishes to downplay the SPECIFIC Christian nature to the ‘proposition’. This issue is a huge factor among the “dissident right” or whatever the Patriot/conservative movement is called. There remains such a divide between Christians (ie Bible-believing followers of Jesus, not Mary-worshippers dressed in robes from Rome who like little boys and are now doctrinal universalists) and non-Christians that I doubt any lasting alliance can form.

    The left forms alliances easily BECAUSE none of them really BELIEVE anything! They are capable of such contradictions as queers and moslems teaming up, or womyn and muzzies. Not so for many of us. I can make common cause against an enemy, but our philosophical underpinnings are very different and will come into conflict.

      • We have EXTREMELY accurate manuscripts now, and over 99% of the Greek NT is NOT disputed. There are literally thousands of ancient manuscripts of the NT. There is nothing else remotely comparable. Going to the first and second century church fathers, their writings incorporate large portions of the NT, and it is ALL quite consistent and coherent. Peter was simply one of the early church leaders who did serve for a time as the pastor of the church in Rome. James, the brother of Jesus, was the pastor of the church in Jerusalem, the first real church, not Peter. Nor was Peter head of the first church council (the Council of Jerusalem) which you can read about it Acts.

        Similarly, there was NOTHING in the early church of Mary being anything special. Yes, she was the mother of Jesus, the HUMAN nature of Jesus. OBVIOUSLY not the DIVINE nature of Jesus (God doesn’t HAVE a mother, duh!).

        Over the centuries as Rome consolidated power, more and more teachings were added, non-Biblical doctrines. The corruption grew and grew, JUST LIKE THE PHARISEES! They added the traditions of man (buying someoe into heaven via indulgences? REALLY???) just as “the Jews” did with the Talmud. Jews do not follow OT Scripture just like Roman Catholics do not follow NT Scripture.

        Translations? Sure, there are different versions. The ESV and NASB are the most accurate ‘word for word’ translations. This is not in dispute. The “KJV only” crowd are following a document translated from LESS ACCURATE manuscripts than we have today, and it is written in archaic language. It certainly has a sort of majesty in some passages, but it is not a good source to accurately understand the teachings as some word and phrase meanings have changed in English over the past few hundred years.

        Many of you put forth views that are internet repetition or old traditions, they are simply incorrect. Ignorance about Biblical matters is rampant, with few being able to actually support their belief with facts and logic. I have countless hours of study, as well as a great deal graduate-level seminary work in apologetics. I don’t pull things out of thin air. Disbelieve at your own peril.

The hierarchy and Magisterium are apostolic, not ‘pagan.’ The phony claims of heretics then and now are contradicted by mountains of evidence. St. John the Apostle submitted to 4 popes in his life (St. Peter, St. Linus, St. Anacletus, St. Clement I) without one word against them. St. Clement’s letter in about 95 A.D. exercised his papal authority against a troublesome faction in Corinth. The Corinthian Christians, like the Apostles, respected and obeyed papal authority then and after.

    Psalms prefigure Mary as the “house” of the Lord (like the Ark), the “daughter of the King” (to be honored). Don’t be confused by the differences in Catholic and Protestant Psalm numbering.

    Psalms 44:14: “All the glory of the daughter of the King is within…”

    Psalm 83:3-5: “My soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God. For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.” Just as in Luke 1:48, “…henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.”

    There are other such examples.

    Numbers 9:15: “Now on the day that the tabernacle [a tent used as a sanctuary for the Ark of the Covenant] was reared up, a cloud covered it…” prefigures Mary in Luke 1:35, “And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

    2 Kings 6:9-15 (2 Samuel for Protestants) repeatedly mentions the Ark and describes David’s joy dancing at the return of the Ark. This prefigures Mary as the Ark in Luke 1:44-56 when Elizabeth’s baby jumped in the womb in the presence of Mary, the New Ark, bearing Jesus in her womb, “… the infant in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.”

All of my grandparents, my father, my Aunts and Uncles, and at least 4 of my great grandparents were born inside the States or territory of the United States. I served honorably in the armed services of the United States, when I was young and dumb (but, shit was not so fucked up in the 1980’s, either; to paraphrase President Cammacho). I carry a US passport because State DL’s are so variable and unreliable as ID. I have no “dual citizenship” status or aspirations. I am probably as much of an American as you will find.

    Will I bear arms for the Nation-State that is the USA? Uhhh, that depends on what the deal is. Die for Arab oil? No way. Better to walk and pay gold.
