    Europe abandoned its Christian ideals 100 years ago. Since then it has embraced fascism/socialism, occultism, consumerism, nihilism, and any other passing fancy or bowel movement of pseudo-philosophy where self satisfaction is the goal.

      Not exactly. Europe has indeed abandoned its early Christianity. But one needs to go back a bit further, say about 500 years when many parts of Europe began turning their backs on Christianity to embrace the emptiness of Lutheranism/Protestantism. That includes Sweden, the subject of the present article, which despite having had several great Saints (e.g., King Eric the Saint, and Sts. Bridget, Botvid, Eskil, Helena of Skövde and Sigfrid), it fully embraced Lutheranism in the latter part of the 16th century. Since then, its spiritual foundation has been on a slow, downward spiral. What we are seeing now is simply the natural result of embracing Lutheranism/Protestantism.

      Upon being confronted with atheistic/Marxist modernism of the 20th century, Europe (including Sweden) has no moral or spiritual fortitude to defend itself, it having been neutered of such through more than three centuries of Lutheranism/Protestantism. In that regard, Europe is left not only being unable to defend itself against the invading moslem hourde, but unable to defend itself from its own enemies within.

        There is no less need for epistles today to nearly every denomination on the planet be they Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc. Too often churches were/are tools for the worldly rather than the Godly.

        The Catholic Church wouldn’t have schismed so many times had it maintained a better path. Gold for indulgences is just one of many ways they strayed. Homosexuals and pedophiles in the seminaries certainly led to problems over the last 100 years. Blaming any of that on long dead Luther now is laughable.

        We certainly have our own problems separate from socialism or islam. Fix ourselves and the others have no foothold.
