  1. I don’t know. There is ar500 and nice carriers out there right now for one third the price as we commented on a few articles back. I do like the stealth feature of this vest though. My plan has me and mine being as stealthy and ninja like as possible. Avoidance is our motto. A wife and 2 girls isn’t an A team.

  2. $700 for something that will mostly lay over there in the corner unused. My notion of what it takes to avoid bullet holes is based on the most important thing in real estate. Location, location, location. If you live in a location where getting a bullet hole anonymously installed in your ass is acceptable you should reconsider your life-business model. srsly

When this motherfucker kicks the last leg out 80mil people will die in the first 3 months and then at least million a week after, until equilibrium is established. I plan to stay well away from where all that retardedness is going down. The goal here on the remote compound when that exercise is happening is the same as now, no one comes in and no one gets out.

If any of the horde makes it way out here to nightmareland they will wish they took a different route even if they are wearing $700 worth of nonsense. Look up the word vaporization. I was a 12b, and still am.

    • “80mil people will die in the first 3 months and then at least million a week after”

but. but, but, god… HA HA HA

      MOAR please.

the more who die- the better… 🙂

  3. If shit go’s sideways in your AO. Remember. DIG A HOLE. In fact you should dig several holes. Get in the hole facing your enemy. Shoot them. Your Grandfather had a foxhole and a Khaki shirt. BTW a foxhole is a great place to stand watch. It lowers your visual signature at night, and with over head cover can mask your IR signature completely. AND: A shovel and timber cost’s nothing like 700$

    • Ray, seen it before. In Rhodesia, we dug shell scrapes, not fox holes. Looks like a shallow grave. If you lay flat, the shrapnel should go over you. Easier and quicker to dig.

      • Johnny Paratrooper

We call those “Ranger Graves” in America. And you need to make sure you pile the dirt into the direction of your enemy. It makes the digging go faster.

They work just fine. And, if you kill anyone, You can just put their ass in the hole and dig another one.

For every comment one makes here, it’s immediately negated by the next commentor. Do what you can afford, it either works or doesn’t.

I’m still having issues with plate carriers, since any side or angle shot defeats the plates by entirely missing them. Why bother with all this weight and cumbersome equipment when you have a 50/50 chance or less? Head or groin shot? Watched a vid of a Brit get shot in the back in A’stan, missed his plate by 1/2″. Killed him.
I wore the old VN issue flak jackets for years, have a few of the soft IIIA, and plate carriers, really wonder if it will even be worn. It’s a toss up.

    • Johnny Paratrooper

I recommend a plate. Nobody in the military or police is using a match grade M-4.

At 300 meters, the spread covers a 9-12 inch circle depending on the quality of your rifle and a clean bore.

They all train to shoot center mass because they have to. Which means you do have a 50/50 chance of surviving. And if you take one to the arm or leg, you have the chance to put one on the other guy. Who also has a 50/50 chance.

Adrenaline will keep you alive for 5-15 minutes depending on the size of your body. Usually women can live longer, and small men, after a GSW to an extremity.

Also, it should be noted that getting hosed down with a belt fed weapon, which is 30% of a modern platoons firepower, is a death sentence.

You are correct to say its a ying-yang argument. Because it is.

I will be wearing armor, but only because it makes me look more intimidating, professional, and homeboy can’t shoot anyway. I am, however, worried about getting ripped up by a mag dump from a pistol, bolt-gun, or a shotgun.

If I can force the other guy to aim for my head or my legs, he may think twice.

      • Johnny Paratrooper

I meant to say, Shooting at the other guy causes him to panic. Which means he isn’t a steady sniper anymore.

His is think about dying. Fact.

Every time I got shot at, I was constantly thinking about dying and never seeing my dad again.

      • Johnny, I would not bet on that nobody shooting 77g m4, I prefer 62, but have a few thousand 77g. it’s king here. But then most folks here have gone back to .308 and 3006. Why dick around.

You gonna shot some cock sucker, fucking shoot him, kill him, quit wasting ammo. I can accomplish with 100 rounds, what the m4 will require 300 rounds to do.

Bracken made an observation couple weeks back. Even average rifles these days are seriously fucking accurate.

Lastly NEVER EVER, underestimate any enemy. Foolish move.

Vests are just another tool, I own em, I’ve worn them for 25 years. I also own plates. A time a place.

Ghost, you scare me. I love the way you think!.

Switching back and forth between M855 and Mk262 requires a trip to the range to re-zero your weapon. Which most leaders don’t feel like doing for lots of reasons.

I have never, ever been in a unit that bothers to switch between ammo.
And the guys who did zero a gun for Mk262(Myself) rarely carried their SDM-16. After two weeks I couldn’t find a reason for it anymore. I was walking all over God’s creation in Northeast Baghdad.

Northeast Baghdad is Ultradense urban and rows of Palms and Orchards.

Even then I couldn’t justify it.

I can make a 900 meter shot using M855. No problem at all. All you need to do is fire 5 rounds and you hit your target. Period. Any 18 year old kid can do it.

We tested all of this ten years ago and ditched it right away.

Mk262 is a mythical creature brother.

A good round to be sure. But its a Moby Dick.

Bring that Mk.262 to Wyoming. Ill Show you.

Delta Force and SEALs showed us that its all a myth.

And then we stoped using them.

        • Johnny Paratrooper

You do know that a 3-4 MOA barrel doesn’t change when you put Match Ammo in it.

          It stays at 3.

      • SemperFi, 0321

You’re assuming I don’t know anything about gunshots or body armor. What were you doing 47 yrs ago? I was wearing body armor before you were born x2.
You do remind me of an ADD YouTube know it all, never mind your actual combat experience. Tone it down a bit, or lay off the caffeine drinks for awhile.
Are we going to have to tie you to the chair in Cody?
        🙂

  5. This is from a Dec 21,2016 Youtube video by ZNA Productions, “How To Make Amazing Body armor for $30” so bear with me. The video produced by a “kid” wearing one of those floppy earred winter hats, who made his own body armor plates using a kevlar welding curtain and fiberglass resin, and used his manufactured steel chest plate as a template. The video starts with the torture test then goes on to his manufacturing process. The vest held up against several handgun calibers, a 12 ga. slug and 5.56mm. Having briefly worked for a fiberglass fabrication shop as well as doing bodywork on rusted car bodies years ago, I believe his results would have been even better had he rolled the air pockets out from between his layers. Its worth a look if you are good with your hands.

If you didn’t buy stab proof armor, You can purchase a thin cutting board.

Bake it in the over around 150*

Stick in vest. Put vest on. Quickly.

Physics Lesson for you thick as fuck dodo birds.

I could tackle that vest to the ground with just my bodyweight and couple meters of running.

All those rifle rounds hardly even wiggled that post.

Energy is Neither Created Nor Destroyed; It is only Transformed.

Holy fuck you fucks are fucking stupid.

      • Johnny Paratrooper

I’m especially disappointed in the guys who are usually right.

Like DTG, Dirk, Aesop, and MFG

        Ya’ll need to unfuck yourselves.

  16. Several videos on YouTube show that spartan level III+ stops even 55g 5.56.

    https://www.spartanarmorsystems.com/level-iii-ar550-armor/

They have 30% off sales frequently.

    • For you boomers, several videos also show that only 55g defeats good armor often, not 62g and never .308. Speed defeats armor.
